Feedback. Ah, feedback, that gift of the gods. Can there be anything so sweet as posting a story and then receiving a page of comments? I think not. Oh no.
However, we should all remember that feedback is a privilege, and not a right. Moreover, it is entirely at the discretion of the person leaving it. Writers can but put their children out there; the public’s response is up to them.
Writers: please try not to harass people into leaving feedback. You shouldn’t contact people asking why they haven’t said anything (even your friends), and you certainly shouldn’t pester them into leaving feedback. Neither should you contact someone to complain that they haven’t commented enough, or that you don’t like what they’ve written. If someone has flamed you, please contact an appropriate mod.
Readers: if you have a problem with someone hassling you, please let a mod or me know (in our official capacity, obviously!). However, please remember that there’s nothing so good as getting feedback, so if you’ve read a story and enjoyed it, please do let the writer know!
