Would like to clarify something: the triplets (AFAIK) were born in 1939 after War had been declared? My English history isn't great but did Dunkirk happen in 1940 and if so which month?

And was Grace Nalder engaged at any point? I seem to vaguely remember she was at some point in the books and then she turns up in Oberland. Was her marriage ever mentioned?

Thanks

Britain declared war on Germany on 3rd September 1939, so it had been going on for a couple of months by the time the triplets were born.

The Dunkirk evacuation began on 27th May 1940 and ended on 4th June.

Miss Nalder is EBDism'd: she apparently gets married to a classics master shortly after the school leaves Austria, but later on it's stated that she was engaged, but it was broken off and she returned to teaching, first at a high school, then St Mildred's when it opens.

No problem. :D

There's a great series about WWII's military campaigns called WWII in HD Colour, which I use quite a lot for reference when writing my Peters universe. It goes right through the war and covers all the major events like Dunkirk, the Battle of Britain, North Africa and the Pacific, Overlord, Market Garden, etc. Some of it is on YouTube here.
