Name: AilidhNoor - known as Ailidh

Age (ish!): old enough that I should be on my 2nd set of twins (34)

Location (approximate - no actual address, please!):
A small village in the West Midlands

SLOCs/children/pets/imaginary friends:
One car-obsessed SLOC, one Irish setter

Favourite and least favourite books and characters:
Jo of the Chalet school is my favourite for its Christmassy bit.
I like early Mary-Lou before she becomes OOAO, and I love Miss Ferrars and Biddy.
Least favourite book - Two Sams.

How you got into the Chalet School:
Someone bought me a triple decker paperback- Ruey, Leader and Trick - for Christmas as a young teen. I loved the books, and have collected them on and off ever since. I'm too tight to shell out for hardbacks though so I have mainly paperbacks. I re-read them whenever I need a boost.

How you found the CBB:
I think I actually signed up a few years back under a different name, but I can't remember it! I was looking for fanfiction and other people to talk about the importance of milky coffee for breakfast and not losing your umbrella.

Hallo and welcome! I too am at the twin-bearing age (33) *shudders*.

I'm also a dreadful loser of brollies, particularly when I've managed to find one I really like.

Anyway, welcome and have a splendid time here.

Welcome Ailidh :) (How should we be pronouncing it please? Is it like Eilidh but with an "A"?)

Easy solution to losing brollies - be like me and never carry one!

Thank you for the welcome folks.

Ailidh is the name I was given by my Scottish Gaelic class as the closest approximation to my birth name.

Cestina has it right- It is pronounced 'Allie' or 'Ehllie' depending on dialect. I'm quite used to it now so I forget how weird it looked at first with the dh on the end.

Flora and Fauna would have no trouble with it

Only by phone :D Class is once a week and is done via conference call - about 8 of us on the call plus teacher, and from all over the country.

It's almost all done in Gaelic, albeit the early classes were rather stilted as we'd only mastered Hello. EBD would be very proud of how we're learning via the direct method
