Age (ish!): In my fifties

Location (approximate - no actual address, please!): Lincolnshire

SLOCs/children/pets/imaginary friends: No SLOC. Three grown up sons who I've been trying to train to be good future SLOCS for some women.
Have four whippets - Simon, Esther, Hannah and Thomas. Have always had plenty of imaginary friends (as well as real ones). Started at a very young age with a spider called Pretender and had imaginery mice, dogs and horses. Followed this with imaginary people. Generally know the difference between that and RL.

Favourite and least favourite books and characters: Fave books - School, Exile, Problem, Theodora and New Mistress. Least - Summer Term and Althea. Fave Character - Len, Jo Scott and I have a liking for Rosamund Lilley. She was so ordinary and well behaved and if she could fit in at the CS maybe I could have done.

How you got into the Chalet School: When I started secondary school a friend lent me School because she was horrified that I didn't read books.

Age (ish!): 20, but only just

Location (approximate - no actual address, please!): Currently Nottingham, but I really live in Kent. I'm just visiting!

SLOCs/children/pets/imaginary friends: I have a fiance called Mark, 2 cockatiels calle Huffin and Puffin, a lineolated parakeet called Stuffin, and an Eclectus parrot (doesn't actually live with me) called Eccles! There's also a cat called Tatty who lives in my house, but I hate him, and half the time I forget to feed him so he hates me.

Favourite and least favourite books and characters: I like Mary Lou!

How you got into the Chalet School: When I was about 8, my mum said I could have any book from the jumble sale stall. There wasn't any Enid Blytons so I didn't really know what to pick. But I saw the cover of Jo of (the one with Robin being swept away by the stream) and thought it looked interesting. I didn't get into it then, but later read it and loved it.

Age (ish!): 33

Location (approximate - no actual address, please!): Am a bit nomadic at the moment. Herts/London/hopefully Cornwall in the not too distant future!

SLOCs/children/pets/imaginary friends: None, though there is finally a prospective one in the offing if he behaves!/none, though friends are offering to unload theirs onto me  /Goldfish named Ernie/too many to mention

Favourite and least favourite books and characters: Fave characters are the Quintette, especially Evvy and Corney (surprise!), love the Tyrol and the war books. Not keen on any of the latter Swiss books. Least favourite character is probably later Madge or Jack Lambert. Not too keen on Mary-Lou as she gets older either, though i love her as a kid.

How you got into the Chalet School: Found Exile in library aged about 9 and never looked back!

SLOCs/children/pets/imaginary friends: none/none/a hamster called Polly and a fish without a name/none, though I apparently had a fairly convincing imaginary dog when I was 3...

Favourite and least favourite books and characters: erm...I always have problems answering favourites questions about anything!
Generally I like the earlier books better than later ones, though there are still quite a few I've not got/borrowed and I've not had patience to read transcripts of yet!

How you got into the Chalet School:
Parents had a second-hand book shop when I was little. Saved me lots of books for when I was older, chalets included! So I read them in the quest for more books to read and that was that :)

Age (ish!): 26

Location (approximate - no actual address, please!): Kingston upon Hull, East Yorkshire

SLOCs/children/pets/imaginary friends: 1 (very new) husband, Ben/None/None/lot's of voices in my head.

Favourite and least favourite books and characters: Camp, mainly because I always wanted my Guide camps to be the same (they weren't, needless to say!), and I've always liked Verity and Con, probably as I was a dreamer as well (still am!). As for least favourites, don't think I have any.

How you got into the Chalet School: I picked up Camp from a Bring and Buy Sale when I was 11. Borrowed a couple of HBs from my German teacher when I started secondary school (I decided to explain I knew a little German from the books, and lo and behold, she read them too!), and thanks in part to said German teacher, built up a nice little collection of HBs, which I then sold when in serious debt at Uni, and am now attempting to build up the collection again (via Ebay).

Anything Else: Don't think so.

Finally got round to reposting this...

Name: James

Age (ish!): Pushing 25

Location (approximate - no actual address, please!): North Wales

SLOCs/children/pets/imaginary friends: None/none/none/none these days (eek, I'm lonely!!)

Favourite books: Exile, Barbara, most others from around the start of the Swiss era.

Least favourite books: Not too keen on the latter Austrian ones - don't think things like New House and United CS stand up to rereading too well.

Favourite characters: Robin, Barbara Chester, and have a shameful soft spot for OOAOML!

Least favourite characters: Umm... probably Jo and Jem, but I think I've been corrupted by drabbles there!

How you got into the Chalet School: Picked up an old copy of Exile about 15 years ago while rooting through my gran's spare bedroom, been hooked (on and off) since.

Age (ish!): Middle aged!

Location SE England

SLOCs/children/pets/imaginary friends: None/none/none/lots!

Favourite books - most of the Tyrolean and wartime books.
Favourite characters - Gay and Jacynth, Nell Wilson, Nancy Wilmot, Anne Seymour, one of the most unfairly treated characters in the whole series. Others depending on which book I'm reading.
Least favourite book - don't think I have a least favourite, although some of the Swiss ones are bit boring and repetitive at times.
Least favourite character - Jem when he's at his authoritarian worst. Matey annoys me at times. Does the woman ever smile?

How you got into the Chalet School: Picked up Carola in the library when I was about eight.

He sits on my lap during the day, and on Andrew's at night. And no, I don't want to own all of him. He goes out during the night and then comes in at three in the morning and wakes Andrew up with his yelling.
