As a person who blocks, it is helpful as I can delete and block the IP address more quickly, so thanks - sorry it's a pain whichever is probably why we said not to do it.

The most important thing is not to continue a thread that a spammer has started. Further posting on a spam thread certainly makes things harder. Clicking the red exclamation mark is fine - and it will immediately show if someone else had already 'reported' it.

This doesn't really matter to be honest. It doesn't affect anything in terms of attracting them and I can just delete the spammers' posts from the back end.

Let's develop a process: 1. Users flag them. 2. Mods link to them in the user list in the Mods' room in the style abbey has been doing. 3. Me or K and K delete them from the back end. I'll try to check in a bit more over the next few weeks.
