How does one report posts on here? There's a fair bit of spam posts appearing in Special Sixth and Lemon Biscuits, and I'm not sure how to alert mods to it.

If you press the exclamation mark, that alerts people to the problem, thanks. We do seem to be plagued with spammers today!

I've just been through them all and reported all of them, I think (so far), so no-one else needs to.

Well, the Mods did ask us not to report spammers because they were usually aware of them - but this is a bit of an avalanche!

If you don't want to keep seeing the same ones in New Posts (because they haven't yet been removed ) you can always click on 'Mark Forums Read' on the Board Index Page - make sure you've read any new genuine ones first, though, obviously...

Special Sixth does look a bit mad at the moment, but posts can only be deleted by someone who's a moderator for that forum, and, because some people are at the book conference in Bristol and won't have access to computers (trying to delete spam on a small phone screen is a pain!), please just bear with it for now! This one does seem to be a very prolific spammer - they've posted four times since I last looked, and that was only about an hour ago!

Prolific and pointless - since I doubt more than a handful of members can read them! Grrrr.

Can't report them anymore either - the exclamation mark isn't available at the bottom right corner ( at least, not on my tablet.........!). :banghead:

It may be fio - I thought that but if you have a slider bar at the bottom of the post then just slide it along and it is there.

I hope there is a mod around who can remove these today - it's deeply depressing to see them all lined up like this!

ETA Sorry, just seen Alison's post above so I suppose we have to bear our souls in patience till the mods have returned from a lovely time in Bristol ...

If you click on 'Mark All Forums Read' on the Board Index Page, you don't have to look at them when you next log in, though. Unfortunately, I think it's putting everyone off posting anyway.

I looked at membership list expecting there to be lots of new members with these odd names, but they aren't at the end of the list. I then looked at a few of the messages and they all seem to have joined 2 June, all live in Georgia, and all have made 12 posts. Seems someone is creating lots of identities for some daft reason, can't see any point!

All gone :-)

When someone with modly superpowers comes along, they'll delete the users and block the IP address (all were from the same IP address).

Thanks to all you non-technically challenged mods etc.

By the way do we have any news on the SDL?

We are not the only ones. The Guiders website has also had a spam attack.
