And it's very good. I had to be sensible and tell myself not to finish it last night as it's an early start today.

Enjoying the Patricia Wentworth non-Miss Silver books. Romantic suspense rather than murder mysteries and fun to read.

A Pony for Jean by Joanna Cannan (krimi and pony book author and mother of the Pullein-Thompson sisters) is at 99pence...

And for Geoffrey Trease fans The Grand Tour looks interesting - and it's free!

For anyone who missed it first time round, A Chelsea Concerto, by Frances Faviell (one of the Furrowed Middlebrow books) is free again . Highly recommended.

And from his second tranche of books, those by Elizabeth Fair are at £1.99. I have just read my way through the whole six with ever-increasing enjoyment. Something of the flavour of Angela Thirkell but much less fevered.

Oh that one looks fun Jan, thanks. I am still very ambivalent about Miss Silver but I have been enjoying the others.

Oh now here is an evil new deal - sample the first one in a series from 99 pence. 100 books to browse. I haven't looked through them yet but I hope for the sake of my purse not too many grab my attention!

ETA Phew, nothing!

Winifred Peck's Arrest the Bishop is free for Kindle just now. I found it quite enjoyable, and it falls into the golden age crime genre quite nicely. It's another Dean street press offering.

I got all excited and went to get this - only to be told by Amazon that I'd bought it last November! I hope I didn't pay for it!!
