I was at the Bodleian Library last week and found this free exhibition really interesting. It's not massive but it celebrates pioneering women doctors, scientists, writers, pirates (!) as well as Sappho and the suffragettes. I could have happily stayed there for ages, but having already dragged SLOC round the Tolkien exhibition for 2 hours a grudging 20 minutes was all I was allowed.

It struck me as something Elinor would have enjoyed, and probably something the chalet girls would be taken to see. It's certainly worth a visit if you're in Oxford in the next few months.

Sadly, I was in Oxford only recently, but with no wriggle-room on the schedule for anything other than the Conference I was helping to run - but the 'Sappho to Suffrage' exhibition is on until 3rd February 2019, so there's still plenty of time to catch up.

ETA: Opening times Monday to Saturday 10am-5pm, Sunday 11am-5pm

I think the majority of women feel the same, Anne. A girl from my year in school joined the order who ran the school, but in the last few years, at the age of 70+ and still a nun, has single-handedly set up and runs a centre for trafficked girls and women in Albania. She deservedly received an award from the Queen recently. I feel I've wasted my whole life, in comparison.
