I see that The Princess Bride is in today's Daily Deal, as is a book by Neil Gaiman.

Even if you know the film of The Princess Bride forwards, backwards, and upside down as we do, the book is still enchanting.

I am sorry not to post the link, it is very tedious on the tablet and my laptop is in hospital at the moment...

Thank you for this! really enjoyed my re-read of this (and the vision of Miss Marple as Nemesis in a fluffy pink scarf!). Unfortunately, it has made me remember how much I love Miss Marple, which is proving rather expensive...

I am glad you enjoyed it Mrs Helston. I haven't got around to reading it yet and I am not sure if it is one I have read before or not.

The Reason I Jump is 99p in today's Kindle Daily Deal; I think there are a few people who are interested in autism here.

The House at Sea's End, no.3 in Elly Griffiths' Dr Ruth Galloway series, is currently 99p.

Ruth Galloway is a forensic archaeologist based in Norfolk who is sometimes called in by the police to give an expert opinion on human remains.

I have to admit I hadn't actually heard of Elizabeth Strout until I was listening to A Good Read and one of her books was mentioned. When I went to add her to my maybe wishlist I found out that two of her novels are currently 99p. 'Amy and Isabelle' and 'The Burgess Boys' if anyone is interested.

A load of Ellis Peters books are at 99p today (bizarrely described by Amazon as "34 titles from Peter Ellis at 99p each" )

And The Clockwork Sparrow is at £1.94 currently; I'm not sure how long for. I've quite enjoyed this series; quite a light-hearted children's mystery set in the 1920s in a department store modelled on Selfridge's.

I've just been trawling the Kindle monthly sale for September and The House at the End of Hope Street, The Dress Shop of Dreams and The Lost Art of Letter Writing are in it, for Menna van Praag fans.

Sorry to spree but I have just spotted this on offer at 99pence and I know there will be some fans of David Crystal out there: By Hook Or By Crook: A Journey in Search of English

Thank you, Cestina. I've taken The Lost Art of Letter Writing, which I haven't read. I was just in the mood for something not too demanding.

I've heard David Crystal speak a couple of times. He was hugely entertaining. They were after dinner occasions, and pitched accordingly.

sealpuppy may be too modest to post, but 'pre-orders' (hate the term!) are now open for her forthcoming book, The House at Ladywell - the Kindle 'pre-order price' is £1.99 :D .

Thanks for the tip Abbeybufo - it's very reasonably priced on Amazon.ca too, so have pre-ordered it.

That's lovely of you all, thank you! I'm having to splash it around all over social media (publisher's requirement) and finding it exhausting and difficult - after all, a Chalet girl is not brought up to show off and say Buy my Book! It's a bit different, this one: contemporary romantic with historical interludes/echoes, so I hope people like it ok. And only a couple of murders but they're in the historical bits so no need for a detective. :D
