I am just reading an unexpectedly interesting book, currently on a Kindle offer - Our Uninvited Guests. It's about the big houses and stately homes that were taken over during the Second World War by various organisations, including, of course, schools.

I have just read a delightful chapter about Aldenham Park in Shropshire which housed the Convent of the Religious of the Assumption for most of the war. Now moving on to Malvern College's occupation of Blenheim.

I've finally got round to reading this. I'm now wondering what was really going on at Pretty Maids and at Flora and Fiona's house during the war :D . I think Erisay was on the western side of Scotland, so the wrong side for launching SOE missions to Norway, but you never know.

I have just reread (third time?) The Convalescent Corpse. I love it! The odd thing is, I could have sworn it had a predecessor about the Fyttleton girls but it doesn't does it? Or am I going mad in lockdown?

If it doesn't then it shows how skilfully it is written....

Btw there are many EJO Abbey books on at 99p at the moment....
