Out today!

Have so far resisted clicking 'buy now', don't know how long that will last.

Probably need to acquire wine and/or chocolate first, for the full St Mary's experience.

I think that's confirmed that I need to use up my TOIL hours this afternoon and curl up with Max.

I've read it today. Quickly to get the story and I'll go back to get the details. No spoilers but strong drink would be a good reading aid! :D

This sums up how I feel too. I started last night and finished this morning (and knitted most of a hat while reading). I had to keep reading to find out how things turned out and I'l read again more slowly.

Was reading until 3am Friday morning and finished later in day - tears and smiles aplenty.

Just finished it - as Lesley says - tears and smiles aplenty - probably more tears than smiles. It's very dark in places.

Sat up late last night/early this morning to finish. Agree it is very dark in places, I found it quite difficult to read at times - a consequence of becoming so attached to the characters.

But I didn't think [she would kill off Markham permanently], so I was expecting something of the sort to happen.

Definitely need to read again.

(Moved from 'What We're Reading') A very good friend gave me a signed copy of 'And The Rest Is History' for my birthday. I was feeling a very happy bunny indeed, although reading about it on here warned me I was in for the shedding of a great many tears - and I now see what you all mean. Oh dear! Does it get better?

Added days later: No, it didn't get better, or not at first! Oh, dear, what a roller-coaster of emotions! Still highly recommended, though!

I'm having to slap myself to stop shrieking abuse at the people on the St Mary's fan page when they come up with idiotic ideas for casting of characters! A lot of them are American, or dead, or very, very old, but all are unsuitable and it makes me cross! As any fule know Jodi has said that Leon is Richard Armitage, Peterson is David Tennant, and Markham is Marc Warren! (And Richard Armitage is also the hero, Patrick, in my forthcoming book, The House at Ladywell.)
