I feel like Bridget Jones! I now weigh pretty much the same as I did just before Easter, having been a few pounds more and a few pounds less at various stages during the year but never managed to make any real progress. It's the same story every year - I do OK late spring and summer, and then it piles on on holiday and I can't get back to where I was in time for Christmas, and then it goes on again!

December is a bad time, though - January's a better time to start.

Who else is back on their diet, back at the gym, and scared of going near the scales after the Christmas eat-athon  :D ?

I haven't looked at my scales for weeks, and am almost afraid to now!

I have another week at Steve's then I will be back to normal and back to WW etc. No gym for me, tried it a couple of times when I was younger and the DWP sent me there in an attempt to get me back to work, not my thing at all but I will try and get back into doing a bit more walking. I've looked at Steve's scales and am reasonably happy with them, unfortunately, I know they weigh 4lbs lighter than mine and WW at home.

Don't wish to gloat. But I purposely didn't go to my weigh-in last night, because I was sure I would have put on several pounds over the Christmas break.

This morning I went for my regular injection and the nurse weighed me. Judging by last time she weighed me (I got weighed on my regular scales later the same day), I had somehow managed to lose another 4 or 5 pounds since the beginning of December.

And my blood pressure was lower than it has been for a long time, so if it stays that way, I may need to reduce my medication.

She did say that my last blood test showed I was borderline diabetic, which actually I hadn't been told. However, that was 6 months ago, so that should have improved too. I had a blood test for that and for Vitamin D, which was also previously low and will get the results next week.

She said I was the only one she'd weighed or measured their BP with a lower result that day, so she was happy and so was I!

Don't know how I managed it but I'm not complaining. :D

Well done Cal!

I braved the scales and had only put on 2.5lbs over the Xmas period which could have been a lot worse, and I lost 5lbs in the 10 days running up to Christmas so I suppose it was still a small net loss.

Unfortunately. I do still have a 3 stone target to lose but never mind.

I'm braving the scales tomorrow :( . I can't even do my usual trick of putting it off till as late in the morning as I can manage without feeling ill for lack of breakfast, because I've having my hair cut at 1/4 to 9. I get far more nervous about facing the scales than I do about facing even very scary humans!

I'm really not doing well ... it's like one step forward, two steps back .. or one step forward, one step back, at least. It admittedly doesn't help when I don't stick to the letter of my food plans: I go wrong in the evenings, and I wish I could find something to stop me doing it.

I find I nibble when I get bored. Keeping my hands occupied helps. I've just restarted knitting an arran sweater for myself. I bought the wool a long time ago but never got further than one sleeve. So I unpicked that and started again with another pattern which I've used before and really like - I still have that sweater, although it's way past its best now. And of course, now I've lost so much weight I can knit a smaller size! :D

I've now lost over 2 stone. When I got weighed this week, I'd managed to lose the 4lbs I'd put on during the previous fortnight plus a couple of extra pounds, so I was well pleased with that.

Well done Emma :D

I've been floundering for the last six weeks or so just putting on and losing the same 3lbs. I really need to get my motivation together and just go for it.
