Having put rather a lot of weight on recently; I am trying to cut back and change some eating habits. I've put in some of the ideas I got from my best friends from slimming world. Lets hope it works :)

I'm on a weight-loss journey, too. I've lost a stone in about a month. Which seems a lot in a short amount of time, but I have a lot to lose!

I can share what I do food-wise if any of you are interested, but the biggest change was examining my relationship with food. I'm an emotional eater -- I console myself with food when I'm sad, I bury my anxiety with it when I'm stressed, I celebrate with it when I'm happy. I'm still learning how to do all that without food, but now when I get cravings, I stop to check whether I'm really just in the mood or if there's something else going on. It makes a big difference.

Have a good holiday, Alison.

The whole diet thing is so difficult and with me is governed so much by emotions. I am the world's best at comfort eating!

I was diagnosed with diabetes six years ago but managed to control it with diet and lost quite a bit of weight in the process. At one time I was worried I was losing too much although the surgery nurse kindly assured me I was not underweight!

Recently my diet went a bit to pot again and I am being monitored but I am finding it a bit harder to eat the correct stuff this time around.

Best of luck to everyone worried about their weight whether too heavy or too thin but I don't think it is worth obsessing over for a few lbs/kilos if there are no other problems.

Moving country has prompted me to eat much less healthily so I am trying to change that by eating more healthily now. Good luck to all and do share tips and recipes!

Diet went completely out of the window whilst I was in Scotland last week; so back to it now...

I have had a diet nightmare in Sicily. There was cake and ice cream everywhere. And people kept trying to feed me! I'm a fussy eater so sometimes I just don't eat whatever's on the set menu (it was a group tour), which is no bad thing  , but Sicilians don't like to see anyone not eating and kept bringing out extra food at no extra charge. One very sweet man in Palermo, seeing that I wasn't eating the seafood starter, went off to the kitchen and brought me a plate of chips, presumably on the ground that the Mad English would eat chips even if they wouldn't eat anything else!

Let me guess, no will power either?! That was sweet that they give you extra and not charge you. It was the same for me in Scotland; it seemed to be saying 'Eat me' all the time and I just gave in
