Thoughts and prayers to everyone. Could I please have the same for my 86 year old mother. She's been crippled by severe arthritis to the extent she could hardly move. A week last Friday her legs totally gave out and she was put to a community hospital 35 miles away for care and physio.
Today though we heard she has to have an ultra sound scan on Friday as blood tests are not right.

She also lost my sister to cancer 5 years ago which devastated her. She keeps brave and cheerful but is now frightened. Please think of her.

I am so grateful to everyone who has commented here. My mother had her scans today and doc contacted me tonight after she had spoken to my mother to say it is almost certainly cancer of the pancreas. Mother does not want anything further done and docs and I agree. Oh dear. Only thing we can do is be there for her and see as much of her as we can without tiring her, in time to come.

I'm so sorry to hear this, Audrey25; I hope that you, your family and your mother's doctors will be able to do all they can to keep her comfortable and comforted, and that you are, indeed able to see as much as you can of her. I will continue to send positive thoughts to you all.

Thank you all so much. It means a lot. Saw my mother this afternoon . She is in a community hospital about 35 miles from where we live. It actually takes less time to get there by car than going the 4/5 miles between her house and mine by bus then walking the last bit.

She is quite philosophical about it all. She says we all have to die and, at 86, she has had a good innings. At moment she is in little pain except from arthritis when she tries to move.

It probably helps a little that it has not been 100% diagnosed and it's not going to be as she is getting nothing further done.

Thanks a million everyone and thinking of all of you.

Thoughts and prayers with you and your Mum, Audrey. She sounds a very resolute person and I hope she remains pain-free to the end.
