Liz I agree with what the others say about making a complaint about your line manager. I had one such at the last place I worked. I ended up with a nervous breakdown and though I had various therapies and help from the Job Centre etc I never managed to get back to work again and I was very much younger than you when it all happened.

Another agreement for the complaint route Liz. Your line manager is acting unprofessionally. If it's your colleagues who have been making complaints about you I'm sure they would be horrified to know she'd been telling you all about them.

Fingers crossed that the X-ray results are useful, Liz. And sending you gentle hugs.

Thank you everyone for your continued support of my frequent whinging! I think I will probably make a complaint through PALS although I doubt any solid outcome will happen. Still, an apology would be better than nothing.

Mary, believe me, when I say I won't put myself through CBT again I mean precisely that! I'm glad it helped you, but it did the absolute opposite for me. The whole approach is simply completely inappropriate for my situation.

Thank you, Abbey, I sincerely hope things work out for you. I never knew that the world could contain such b****es or b*****ds.

I was afraid of what the x-rays might reveal. The leg is still painful but it can't be too serious otherwise I'd like to think the hospital would have contacted my doctor who might have contacted me by now instead of telling me to expect the results in a week to 10 days. As soon as I got home from the hospital on Thursday, I made an appointment and my doctor is to ring me at work next Thursday morning.

Liz, tell me, is your line Manager wonderfully slim, yet rounded in a feminine way? Is she effortlessly chic? Is her make-up all, and always immaculate?

If all this is not true, just look her up and down, slowly, then raise your eyebrows at her.

I've found that to be very effective..BTW make notes of everything she says to you, as soon as she's departed.

Make notes about what she says to you whilst she's saying it. That could be even more unnerving.

A certain edge when she spoke of Mrs Maynard, certainly, but, after all, not everyone could love Joey.

In my time as a workplace rep, I found this very, very effective. And the minutes (if any) were always more accurate

I don't belong to a Union but today I will try and find someone to talk to to see if they're following the correct procedure for helping me.
