So why are we offended?

Because rubbish such as that is offensive.

Basically, my life is mine to decide what I want to do with it. I don't take crap such as that from anyone.

BTW: So women can't rule or govern. Please tell that to Indira Ghandi, Mrs Bandaranaike, Margaret Thatcher, Teresa May, Benazir Bhutto, not to mention Queen Victoria, (our last executive monarch) and Queen Elizabeth 11.

I know that some people on here might be anti-monarchists, and please don't take offence at that term, but she saw it as her job, and she's done it for a long time, and managed to keep herself out of the political fray, though I've no doubt that she must roll her eyes sometimes at the stupidity of politicians of all parties and classes. But only in private.

What I really miss on here is the capacity to yibble on the various drabbles as they are being written and posted.

Drabbling has itself been dwindling over the past couple years. I've barely written anything for ages, though I do happen to know another person is writing right now *keeping it as vague as possible because I'm silly like that*.

I feel really guilty about that. I've abandoned Maynard Madness (with a sad little sigh) and I'm trying to develop another idea. I haven't got a plot for it yet, though.

Happy Mothers' Day everyone! My brother found ours a cute little card with teddy bears on it and a lovely poem, and then added at the bottom: "plus the day you let me come out of your birth canal".

He'd forgotten he'd written it. She was "slightly horrified".

To be fair, it's a pretty big favour!

I miss the drabbling/yibbling on here too; it was fun.

Yes I too miss it. I rarely remember to read drabbles any more and am sad about that.

I keep resolving to reform and then forget again. Heigh ho for SMS..... :(

Like the drabble scene, the CBB definitely feels quieter than when I first joined. Though apparently it was at it's height before that, don't know what the board was like back in the 00s.

I feel slightly guilty for not attempting to continue my Trebizon fic because a while someone actually messaged me about it on fanfiction.net, and more recently someone else (I guess) followed it.

But despite owning all the books, like I said before, writing about that was much harder for some reason than the CS or even Monica Edwards (i tried to write fics off that as well). I do wish Abbey would continue this 2014 story :)

Goodness, I'd forgotten the very existence of that! I'm planning a Buffy rewatch sometime soon... I'll have to read this and see if I can make some sort of ending!

And yes, the CBB is definitely much quieter... I think in part because of the departure of the drabbles. Perhaps, too, we've discussed all the discussions lots of times before and we don't get a very quick rate of new members... and there's the advent of facebook, too; the NCC facebook group is very active.

I haven't so much as *looked* at the discussions for ages. There's a bit too much anti-Joey sentiment for my liking. :/

Back in the Noughties, we were very, very, politically INCORRECT.

Some of the threads, if read by an outsider, would have convinced anyone that we were a collection of madwomen (including the occasional Man).

But we enjoyed ourselves.

You can read them in Stacie Benson's Reading Notes, under various authors, including Multiple Authors.

We were far more light-hearted, now it's got rather serious, which is why my visits are frequently curtailed.

I must admit that I don't post as often as I used to, just randomly every now and then.

Hope everyone has a lovely Easter Weekend. I'm working it all, but had today off so I've just eaten the last part of an Easter Egg :)

Did anyone else watch Gardeners World tonight and think Chalet School gardening outfits when the section about Beatrice Haverhill was shown? Dungarees but not as we know them?

I did it! I finished my thesis! I can now come back and witter on here again, and best of all, I can get back to drabbling!

Please, please excuse my ignorance but what is drabbling and yibbing? Is drabbling the same as fanfiction such as you would find in Sally Denny?

I mainly look at the discussions and I keep a look out for anything I might like in Sally Denny and pay an occasional visit to Rose Garden. That's all I do look at and it hasn't varied since I joined except I didn't look at Rose Garden until quite recently.

I should make more of an effort to look at old fiction though as I am sure there are loads I have not read.

To the people who don't look at the discussions now because so many are anti-Jo why don't you set up discussions writing the good stuff about her?

I guess there will always be more written about Joey because she played such a massive part in the series and she was such a big personality she laid herself open to attack. She also had many good points though.
