I've also just had a back / shoulder problem which has turned out to be a neck problem. Happily caught relatively early, and the chiropractic is working well. I can turn my head again, and everything

My chiropractor says: iPad injury. Always holding it in my left hand, and it's surprisingly heavy...

And you are now holding it differently aren't you Caroline? Otherwise it will be a case of "If you always do what you always did, you will always get what you always got" :)

That's the magic of the Alexander Technique - it doesn't just fix you, as chiropractic certainly can, but you learn to not get into the mess in the first place, or to sort it out yourself if you have.

Sadly, its effect on worn out parts like arthritic knees is less stunning....but at least I am still walking, after a fashion.

I am :D I have a "book seat" for it, so I can prop it up and neither hand has to carry the weight. Though my shoulder / neck feels a lot better, I don't have to do much for to know about it again, so there is an incentive to be good!

(Though I did try to convince myself a newer iPad would be much lighter than my five year old model... )

I had a similar problem with holding an IPad, unfortunately I seem to have been left with the problem.
I am seeing a physiotherapist but so far I am not seeing any positive results.

I've been having minor issues with my shoulder for years, they've only recently started to get debilitating but according to my chiropractor i've evidently been compensating for them as my entire upper body is out of alignment, not working properly etc etc. He has managed to improve things though, as well as more or less fixing my lower back problems.

Unfortunately, i've now been doing the rest/ice/painkillers/physio/steroid injections thing with my shoulder since around the middle of February so I suspect it's going to end up needing surgery (my GP thinks it probably will). Hopefully not though, the place i've chosen to be referred to is supposed to have very good physios so with luck it will end up being something they can sort out. Oh well, all should become clear within the next month or so

Happy (belated) birthday to both of you! Is that magic birthday cake that turns into any flavour you want? Mmm, chocolate cake...

I received a parcel with birthday presents in this morning. I'm being good and not opening them yet.

Happy belated birthday, guys!

I've just realised that it's the election today. I wonder who'll win. To be honest, I think if something terrible happens, I won't really care any more. I don't understand anyone's policies, so I'm feeling kind of detached. It'd be kind of funny if Labour won, though.

That's probably the worst two pence in the country.

...I just voted for bananas. I prefer bananas to anyone I could have voted for.

I am now older! Well, I am always older, but my 'years' rotor-thing has got to a new digit. :D Here's to another year of being unapologetically genderqueer aromantic asexual. :D

*adds bananas (with apologies to, I think Frau J who if memory serves from about 5 years ago avoids them) *

*adds banana free zone in case*

Happy birthday! I think I'd probably vote for bananas, too. My constituency doesn't have a Monster Raving Loony candidate. :(
