The last thread was at 25 pages, so I'm starting a new one to celebrate La Decima Doble :D :popper: .

Yes, Rafa is playing very well - I hope he can do all three Decima's. Shame Andy isn't playing as well as I'd like

*sigh*

Well at least Rafa is playing well and is healthy as is Delpo because it is difficult to watch Andy these days. It's veering remarkably close to "a slump". :(

Fabio played really well last night, and it's his home event, but Andy was very poor. I suppose everyone has bad patches, but even so.

The timetabling is doing my head in. It was half 10 our time when it finished, so it was half 11 local time. Thiem's semi final on Saturday finished even later, and then he had to play the final the next day. I get that they like to have a night session so they can sell a second lot of tickets, but it's very unfair to players. At least at a Grand Slam event they get the next day off.

I don't think the CS books have ever been translated into Spanish, but I was slightly amused to see that Rafa was wearing gentian blue, and David Ferrer and Fernando Verdasco are both in lime green. Sascha Zverev's kit is partly lime green as well.

I didn't see that shade of green being lime at all Alison!

I was at RG for 3 days and saw everyone I wanted to, although admittedly in some cases *cough Del Potro cough* not for as long as I would've liked to due to heat and hydration.

I was happy to see Rafa play Haase and was part of the Mexican Wave towards the end  I saw Andy, Del Potro, Garbine, Bedene, a tiny bit of Jamie Murray, Tsonga.

Oh, you lucky thing, tartan-belle. That must have been fantastic! I have been to Wimbledon a few times but such a long time ago. I would love to see some of the present day players like Andy, Roger, Wawrinka, Rafa etc etc and go somewhere like RG.

Oh, lucky you! I'm so pleased for you, especially after you had to miss out on the World Tour Finals.

It was great, thanks :D

Andy through - wouldnt've thought this a month or two ago when he was playing kinda rubbish.

Not sure what to think about Novak though. Ouch.

I thought Novak's press conference was very telling ... he wasn't meeting anyone's eye, and didn't make a lot of sense. I think he's mentally all over the place at the moment, and certainly not where he needs to be in his head to be playing well.

Interesting - I'm only just catching up with what's happened in the tennis today but thanks for the insight abbeybufo. I wonder if it's something to do with his new team set up? I've heard there's some sort of guru now.

There've been rumours about his private life, but they've been circulating for over a year now. Thiem played superbly, but the world no 2 shouldn't be going to pieces in a third set like that.

Already got bad nerves about the semis!

I think Nadal will beat Thiem - it's a different kettle of fish over 5 sets and after all, Nadal has only lost 2(!!!!) to 70-something at the FO.

I think Nadal will win in 4.

Stan vs Andy however, I can't call. Love Andy to do it though and face Rafa in the final which has never happened in a grand slam!

Andy's got the first set ... is that a good or a bad sign, I wonder?

They've sold separate tickets for the two semis, so anyone who's got tickets for this match only gets to see this match. Yet the place was still half-empty when they started. I know I whinge about this all through every French Open, but it really is annoying. You never see the show courts at the other Grand Slam events half-empty. How long does it take to eat dejeuner?!

I wish they'd hurry up. Over 2 hours and only just starting the 3rd set. And they've got to change the crowd over before the 2nd match. My nerves are in shreds already!

sigh, Andy came *so* close.

Rafa won easily and I really, really hope he can take Stan down on Sunday.

Agree with both parts of this...

If Stan plays like he did in that final set ... bleurgh. Fingers crossed he doesn't!

I'll be heartbroken if Rafa loses two Grand Slam finals in a row, but, given that people were writing him off last year, it's amazing that he's reached two Grand Slam finals in a row.
