I have finally had a pay rise, for the first time in three years. When I say "rise", it barely covers three years' compound inflation, but at least I have got one ... although it doesn't come into force in January. Last time, they left it even longer before I got a pay review - so, taking inflation into account, we were getting worse and worse off in real terms - and I ended up complaining, which was very awkward. I'd been wondering how long to leave it before complaining again, but now I haven't got to :D .

That's good to hear, Alison.

I have two little kittens - they are brothers - 3 months old, black and white and fluffy. They were very timid when I first got them (one still is) so I've named them Rocky and Arnie. :D

What fun, Lesley - greetings to Rocky and Arnie on behalf of Wiz and Rosie the 7-month-old trainee criminals (also black and white siblings).

We have just one black and white kitten, Wilbur, six months this week. He is causing enough chaos, I am not sure I could cope with two!

Oh how lovely - they won't stop you coming to the Winter Songfeast on the 3rd though will they?

Sadly I am not sure their voices would blend harmoniously with the rest of us but if any human on the Board fancies a day of lovely singing in Cuffley, Herts, accompanied by some delicious food, then do pm me - there are still a few free places....

Open to all, even those (or even especially those!) who believe they cannot sing. :)

Enormously cheered today to receive an email from Classic FM the title of which reads 'Quiz: Are you Tone Deaf? Win tickets to see Andre Rieu perform...'

Very cold today, but it feels quite festive. And it's just so nice to be able to get out and about in the daylight! It gets you down when you're stuck in work all day and then it's dark before you can leave.

And I've made some progress on the dreaded job of clearing out my kitchen.

Thank you! There were times when I did not think it was going to happen - and Emma T had to listen to a major wibble the other day - so I am very happy!
