Just heard on Facebook that I've become a Great Aunt for the second time. My nephew and his wife had a second daughter yesterday. :popper: :popper: :-D

Congrats Cal! Although the BA fiasco inconvenienced many people this weekend, it allowed me to catch up with a lovely old friend, who I hadn't seen in almost 5 years. She was caught here when she was only supposed to be transiting through.

Liz, let us know how you get/got on!

Thanks for the congrats. Looking forward to meeting her soon. I think my nephew and his wife must go in for less common names, as she is Harper and her sister is Lola.

I quite like those names, although they took some getting used to.

ETA Just had a wonderful few days away in the Peak District, catching up with old friends. The weather was great and we talked non-stop. Staying in a hotel, I ate far too much, so it's back to the diet today. I did make use of the hotel's swimming pool, but not enough to burn off all those calories!

Belated congratulations Cal - what lovely names.

Sounds like a great time catching up with friends as well.

That sounds exciting. It's pity the CBB doesn't allow us to upload photos! Enjoy.

I am happy because I have finally got round to sorting my summer and winter clothes. I will take the brave step to bin that top/those trousers that I have been keeping just in case I can fit back in them again!

My daughter is graduating in a couple of weeks with a first class honours degree in history. She does have another degree in a different subject but not with honours so feels happier this time round.

Dog had a tooth out yesterday and dodgy blood tests in run-up are normal again. Happy!

Delightful moment on the way to the polling station just now: there was a van delivering tea at the side of the road, with the driver just getting back in when there came a shout from twenty yards away. A fellow emerged from his garden and sprinted down the road clutching a handful of coins, pulled up at the van, and breathlessly requested a packet of Earl Grey.

Sounds lovely, Abbey :)

My parents come home tomorrow. Haven't seen Mum in nearly three weeks; other than on face time :) it doesn't feel that long though.

I'm loving Montenegro, very beautiful country and it is touristy enough that people speak English and the buses are modern but undeveloped enough that buses make random stops because the driver wants pizza and any meal eaten outside is shared with stray cats. Have also seen an orchestra practising outside and been puzzling over why buses run past the airport but don't stop there.

Moving on to Dubrovnik tomorrow.

Dubrovnik is lovely - part-Balkan, part-Venetian :D. I think that part of the world's going to become very popular: it's cheaper than the Eurozone, and I think that, sadly but inevitably, security concerns are deterring people from going to Turkey. Glad you're enjoying yourself :D .
