I knew that I was getting a new computer. I even chose a new tower case for it, and paid £83 for it. So Andrew has managed to get two second-hand ones through a friend of his, for ten pounds each. They're so small, about 12 inches square, and there's alot loaded on them.

But not Office (tm). So how do I write a letter or anything? Andrew thinks I should use Notepad, but I just can't get a satisfactory document using that.

He says he can't find his Office disc.

Why did I bother installing the printer yesterday evening?

Open Office is free and does a lot of the same stuff as Microsoft Office, Jennie. It's laid out slightly differently but has a lot more functionality than Notepad.

Wonderful news! I've just come home from having a work assessment at Milton Keynes and the lady who assessed me is going to write in her report something to the effect that she thinks I was bullied over the crutches issue at work. She gave me lots of other helpful advice as well which makes me feel so much better. She also couldn't understand why I had to drive myself to see her instead of having someone come out to my workplace and assess me there.

I'm going to do my best to get to work tomorrow and Friday because I then have 2 weeks' A/L and I'm going to Shropshire on 1 August to do lots of creative writing until 12 August.

Things are looking up!!!!!!!!!!

Hope course is great Liz and thumbs up for continuing work saga. Sounds as if something may move on that front at last.

I am off to the UK this morning, flying, with wheelchair assistance through the airports which is wonderful. You by-pass all the queues and whizz through shortcuts. Nevertheless am slightly dreading the journey but much looking forward to celebrating Rose's 100th birthday next Wednesday with her. Watch out for the blog post on the 2nd, those of you who follow Small Worlds :D

And a singing workshop on Saturday 5th in Cuffley - still spaces for anyone who would like to join us.

Thanks, Cestina, hope you have a good flight and the 100th birthday celebrations go with a swing.

Rather dropped myself in it at work though by not saying until today that I've got the next two weeks off as the people who need to know aren't here themselves - they're on leave!!!!!!!

My daughter is now 15 and decided she wants a job. She spent yesterday visiting the three villages nearest us and leaving her details at a total of 17 cafes/shops, etc in hope of work. She was still in a positive mood when she came back, despite no actual offer of anything. Hooray, she had a phone call today and will start on Sunday - only washing up, but she is thrilled and £5 an hour is great when you are her age.

Had a lovely day with my friends today. We were going to walk to The Bronte Falls, but turned back due to the weather being awful. Ate a picnic in the car, then went into Haworth. Had a cream tea, wandered about and went to the park as we had my friend's two year old with us. In the afternoon, Sarah and I went to the food festival in Huddersfield. A good day :)
