It was lovely. But I ate too much!

Yesterday, our small town went to the polls to vote on our Neighbourhood Plan.

96% said YES.

So now we have to be heard on planning issues, and we get more money from new developments.

EBD expressions can be very useful when there aren't any others  - I have a niece-by-marriage, born yesterday (to my brother-in-law's sister, so the same relation Daisy and Primula were to Jo!).

Congratulations, Alison.

Since there isn't a confused thread, I'm posting this in here.

You may remember that a couple of weeks ago, I went for a job interview at the local college, only to be interviewed for a totally different job than the one I thought I'd applied for.

This morning, I have received an invitation to an interview for the job I did apply for. It's next Wednesday morning.

Happy to have an interview, but still confused.

Good luck, cal, hope the interview goes well.

I have an appointment to see a consultant on 28 December about my hip and knee. Can't wait!

Sounds very puzzling Carol! Hope it goes well, anyway!

Yay for your appointment Liz; hope that also goes well.

Congratulations, Alison!
Hope it goes well. Cal.
Hope it goes well for you too, Liz :)

I've just spent a few nights in Harrogate with my Mum. We went back to the pub I found us last year for our evening meals; went to York for the day yesterday. It was lovely in spite of it being freezing cold!
I'm forty next weekend; and it doesn't matter that I'll be working. Had so much else on to compensate that :D Queen and Adam Lambert and my birthday meal being the highlights :)
My best friend has her fortieth party on Saturday. Let the fun continue :)

Happy Birthday, Emma. Enjoy it.

When I reached 40, I was living in Spain, and it felt as if my celebrations lasted for a week. My actual birthday was on the Monday, but I was attending a conference on that day, so no chance for a proper celebration. (Although I did attend the conference wearing a large 'Yesterday I was 39' badge which I'd received. Please note: I was well known to all the other conference participants!)

The following day and on one of the other days that week I celebrated with friends. And because presents from England were posted to me, I received cards and gifts throughout the week as well.

Regarding the interviews, I've just had a phone call inviting me for another interview on Tuesday. It would be a lovely Christmas present for one of them to come through.

Waves - it has been a long time since I've posted but I do read regularly.

I think this is a happy post... I've been ptreey poorly for the last two weeks. While having a dental injection I had a very funny turn, excruciating headache like nothing I've had before, vomiting, fainting, loss of sight and hearing. I recovered from this then did it again 2 days later. This time NHS 111 sent a paramedic, who sent me to hospital. 24 hours, 1 CT scan and a lumbar puncture later I was discharged. Only to be readmitted 12 hours later with the same thing. I've had another attack since too. They can't decide what is wrong (Thunderclap headaches or atypical migraine are the working diagnoses currently) it definitely isn't meningitis or a stroke and probably not an anuerysm.
However I have now been advised not to travel (even as a car passenger) and so the big family Xmas is off.

However - and here's the happy bit - my sister's colleagues have all swapped shifts with her so that she, my brother in law, nephew and mum can come up to Norfolk for 24 hours and see me.

I've now had a headache of 4+ on the pain scale for 12 days and am on some strong/scary meds (all part of the travel ban) so feeling pretty sorry for myself. It has to be said that my sloc is being incredible but as someone with a severe phobia of vomit this has all been a bit much and I've thrown up more in 12 days than I had in 27 years.

Thanks for listening, I have an MRI booked for 30th Dec and will try to remember to update here if a diagnosis is ever decided on.

Oh dear - sorry to hear about your health problems, Sarah, but glad to hear that the family will be able to come and see you. Hope they find out what's wrong soon.

I went to the theatre yesterday, then to the Christmas markets for gluhwein :D afterwards. There's always a special atmosphere at night, and it was lovely.

So sorry to read your post, Sarah.

Let's hope you get a diagnosis soon, and that it's nothing lasting or serious.

Sorry to read your post, Sarah. Sending you hugs.

I went to my best friend's fortieth last night. We had a good night, in spite of hardly anyone turning up. They'd sent out fifty invites, and not everybody had the decency to reply. But we made the most of it and we had fun all the same :) Really can't understand people at times! The important people were there, and four people she knows through work came too so it was nice to get to know them.

I hope they can diagnose it soon, Sarah, and put you out of your misery. Not a good time to be ill and in pain.
