Holidays sound great! So there is a lot that is not going smoothly (as expected, of course!) with my move to Switzerland but I did just see a flat posting to live with a "Cornelia" This follows finding a beautiful, beautiful chalet that reminded me of the Chalet School, but those people never wrote back :(

Today was the one day I had free to go and see the daffodils at Chirk Castle ... I know it sounds silly, but it's something I look forward to every year! About a third of the way there, fog descended and I could have cried ... but the fog lifted and it turned into a really lovely sunny day. Then, despite having been to Llangollen several times, I found a second hand bookshop which I'd never found before (to be fair, it said "Llangollen's Hidden Gem!). And I even made it home without any hold-ups on the motorway!

It has been a while since I posted in here, and to be honest a while since I've really been around on the CBB at all.

I just thought I would update on how my recovery is going after another round of scans, blood tests and appointments.

The news is still mostly good, the blood clot is still shrinking and there are no signs at all after 4 months that any veins or arteries look damaged in my brain, or at all more likely to do this again. Hurrah!
I am also back at work on restricted hours and duties.

However my neurologist did say that he'd played down the size of the original damaged area to keep my stress & anxiety (and thus adrenaline) levels reduced. The original area was the size of a golf ball, and is now down to a 5p coin. This would explain the 5 month long headache, absolute fatigue and concentration problems I suppose...

I now have another 3 month wait to see how things are progressing, but in that time I have to try and start living my life like I was before. The last 6 weeks or so have mostly all been about getting back to work and doing very little apart from that and sleeping but now it is time to start doing the things I love again, perhaps not to try and increase work hours but to increase 'me' things. Like the neurologist said - no one has a gravestone saying "wish I'd spent more time at work"

I'd just also like to write a big thank you to all the NHS, the news has been really grim this year about waiting times and poor care etc but from day one I've had nothing but excellent care, appointments over the weekends, seeing specialists at the weekend and just such care and friendliness from everyone I've seen.

Thanks for keeping us updated. Let's hope things continue to improve. Sending more hugs.

I'm a big yoga fan and this has taught me to live in the moment and appreciate whatever life throws at you.

Edited to add that I am happy as my daughter is here from Africa. :D

I hope your recovery continues in the same optimistic way, Grembles. It hasn't been much fun, has it, but you're right to want to get your life back. I've lost mine this past year, with little indication I will ever get it back, so know exactly how you feel. Take care!

Apologies to everyone outside the UK to whom this doesn't apply, but wasn't it nice to have good weather over a Bank Holiday weekend, for once :D :D :D ?

Loved the sunshine. Not so keen on the bumper crop of dandelions I have on my lawn. Apparently, it's all the rain we had previously.

It was a bit too hot for me, unfortunately it brought on a couple of angina attacks right in the middle of a visit to the Bookbarn.

I was at a wedding which had been rescheduled from during The Beast. It couldn't have been more different! It was at a hotel with gorgeous grounds, so I spent quite a bit of time sitting out there with a drink in between things happening. It was actually like being on holiday!
