More people in at work today.

More work to do.

And I was given a cooked breakfast of egg, bacon, sausages and bread and butter.

Couldn't ask for more if I tried!

Am back in my lovely home in Bavorov for three weeks; just off to get my hair cut (huzza!) and to see how Small Worlds and The Stables have survived the winter.

Sun is shining, spring is creeping in (way behind the UK where we left all the spring bulbs in full bloom - just green showing here), and I can just play in Small Worlds without being interrupted. And daughter, better known as Butterfly in the crafting world, may actually get to grips with making the troupe of strolling players that the Tudor Tavern has long been waiting for.....

It's 6 years ago today that I had major brain surgery for a benign pituitary tumour.

Although I do suffer a few ongoing health problems, I'm just so glad that I can lead a normal life. I know from my reading and from the medical staff that many people with my condition (Acromegaly* - no I'd never heard of it either until I was diagnosed!) have far more limitations on their lives than I do. And of course, there are lots of people out there with much worse health problems than I have.

*In the UK about 1 in 250,000 people have the condition, which is 1,500 out of a population of 60 million.

Edited once for clarity

After 2 weeks and 5 visits to the vet, the dog's rash is finally clearing up - thank goodness! Maybe time had a lot to do with it but he's now on a healthy regime of probiotics, omega oils and vitamin C so hopefully he will stay rash-free for a while. And I'm thankful we will get some benefit from the insurance on him as well!

Happy bunny today as I can announce that my novel, The House at Ladywell, is to be published by Crooked Cat Books. It's a contemporary romantic novel with historical echoes (aka interludes) and it'll be out later this year.

I'm happy because the last 2 of the 4 Joseph Calleja CDs I ordered off Amazon arrived in the nick of time this morning - I'm off to the flat tomorrow and they'll be going with me.

I've now changed my name at the bank and the DWP. So exciting having my proper new name on things! It's real!

I got the winner of the Grand National! So did most of the rest of the family, because Arthur was my late grandad's name so we all picked One For Arthur!

My choice - Roi de Francs - led nearly all the way, so I knew he wouldn't be placed at the end!

I picked One for Arthur as well, for my cat Arthur. :D
My husband is always saying that's no way to pick a horse, just because you like the name, you should study form etc.
Oh really my poppet? When I won £39 and you only won £3 for your horse that came fourth?

I had a lovely day out in Manchester yesterday. The sun came out to play too :) We had lunch, did a bit of shopping and saw the brilliant new musical Bat Out Of Hell!

My brother requested a tip, stipulating yellow and green colours. I gave him Saint Are so he won a few quid.
