My sister has been reinstated at work, huzzah! Apparently the client wasn't investigating her but someone else they thought she was still in contact with. Her supervisor finally started doing their job properly and talked to the client.
My sister has explained she isn't in contact with the person concerned and all has been cleared up.

Oh good :D. Sounds like it was very badly-handled, but at least it's been sorted now.

Thank goodness for that, and what a lesson in How Not to Handle such a situation! All best wishes to your sister, RubyGates!

Really glad to hear that! Completely disgraceful that she had to go through all that unnecessarily though. Ugh.

Thank you all and thank you also for good wishes and prayers. They worked!
Yes, all totally unnecessary and badly handled but I think she's just glad to be back at work and being paid. :)

Update on my 93-year-old neighbour, J: having spent the winter in hospital after a fall, she was transferred from hospital to a special care home that deals only with dementia cases, and she seems nicely settled in. I haven't liked to say anything until now, as Social Services were still insisting that if she said she wanted to go home, they'd be obliged by law to send her home to be on her own apart from care workers visiting. When I visited her, her only worry was that she might have to go home, so I hope we're past that danger now - just how dangerous the 'sending her home' idea would be is well indicated by her comment to me "I suppose my parents will be there, though"...we're talking 1950s at the latest.

So thank you, all of you, so much, for your prayers and positive thoughts, and for the massive good that they've done. It's a super place, and she seems well and happy and is eating more than she has in ages (chicken curry, even!). The staff, needless to state, do a wonderful job and are very friendly and enthusiastic, and her former care worker lives in the area and visits her sometimes. The last hurdle will be moving her down to Sussex to live near her son, but that's unlikely to happen in a hurry.

That's very good to hear Noreen. It makes one wonder about the role, and indeed levels of understanding of dementia, within social services though.

It does, doesn't it? I always feel great sympathy for social workers in that they're damned if they do and damned if they don't, and vilified by much of the press; moreover, as we know, dementia is a complex subject which is still being worked on, and I suspect that their training on the subject is inadequate. Nevertheless, these are important decisions being made about some very vulnerable people and I can't see the situation getting any easier.

Would appreciate some positive thoughts for my neighbour A whose cat was run over and killed last night. I cleaned the mess off the road this morning to spare her having to do it but she's still very shaken up. RIP Tibbles, he was a lovely cat too :(

Oh that is sad exile. And so very good of you to take on that task. I drove past a run-over cat yesterday and was overwhelmed with grief for those living in the nearby farmhouse whence it had clearly come.

Positive thoughts and prayers for all who need them.

Please may I ask for prayer/positive thoughts for my sister P (63)? I heard yesterday that last week she went to the doctor because she wasn't feeling well.

When he examined her, her blood pressure was sky-high and her pulse rate was 150+. She was sent immediately to hospital by ambulance. She was discharged after 24 hours with medication and they will do further tests in the coming days.

She's a widow with two adult daughters with mild to moderate learning difficulties and a grown-up son with severe dyslexia. The son still lives at home, so at least she has someone to keep an eye on her, which makes me feel a lot happier. I remember that he was very good with my mum when she had advanced vascular dementia (she died 11 years ago).
