No Fedal ( ) and in my opinion a much better match up between Del Potro and Nadal.

Either one would be a decent win but for coming back after 4(!) wrist surgeries, Del Potro shades it for me. Kevin Anderson for the other winner.

Whilst I'm hoping for the all-Spanish final  . But am prepared for anything - this US Open has been crazy. And it's going to be silly o'clock in the morning our time, and then I've got to be at the hairdresser's at 1/4 to 9!

Gah! Just gone to 1 set all, and so this is going to be at least a 4 setter. They have no consideration for those of us in different time zones  .

:D :D :D :D :D :D :D .

I can't believe Rafa's won the US Open again! I can't believe this year's Grand Slam titles have been split between Rafa and Roger. I'm totally over-excited and I really need to wind down and go to bed ...

Pleased about Dimitrov winning the Masters, but I'm so sorry and upset to hear about the death of Jana Novotna at only 49. Very sad news  .

I'm not the greatest Dimitrov fan, and I would have liked Goffn to win - but the scheduling was against him this year - matches 3 days in a row, and it was evident that he'd run out of oomph at the end - not determination, though! I think he did jolly well, but just couldn't get the necessary energy into his serves at the end of a punishing week.

Oh I am so sad to hear about Jana Novotna. I had no idea she was ill.

One of that amazingly long list of top-flight tennis players who have emerged from such a tiny country.

The commentator during last night's Indian Wells final said that the umpire had "a hard row to hoe" because Roger Federer was having a strop (not something he usually does  ). I was very excited: I rarely come across that expression outside EBD books  .

Audrey Roberts said "My sainted aunt" when she saw the mess David Platt'd made in Coronation Street last night. That's another one you rarely hear outside CS books :D . And nothing to do with tennis, but never mind.

My mobile phone sent me a message about it as soon as they announced it. It's very well-trained  .
