Wow - Nadal came out like a wrecking ball today - he was just untouchable. What an achievement to win the French Open for the tenth time and pleased that he was given a special trophy to mark the occasion.

I am very happy :D :D :D .

I am so proud of him.

I am going on holiday tomorrow and haven't got my head into it. Last time I went to Spain, I decided to practise my bad Spanish by asking the rep who met me at the airport whereabouts he was from, and, when he said that he was from Mallorca, I got a bit over-excited and showed him all the Rafa photos on my phon. I think he probably complained to the tour company that they'd made him collect a complete lunatic.

La Decima :D :D :D . I've stressed through every one of the ten finals - never thought today's would be so quick!

Same goes for Andy, which is almost miraculous given his patchy form so far this year.

Here's for some good matches on Monday!

Bleurgh :( . I was half-expecting Muller to win, but 7-6 7-6 7-6. I hadn't bargained on it being like that. Bleurgh.

Shame Rafa couldn't do it but what a cracker of a match.

Congratulations to Jo Konta!

Really pleased to seet Jo Konta go through. I switched on 'for a half an hour' (or so I thought!) to see how she was doing and got hooked. They'd only played about 3 games at that point, so I watched nearly the whole match. Fortunately, it finished just in time for Emmerdale, which is the only one of the soaps I regularly watch. :D

Apparently, Jo is now the favourite. I'm not 100% sure of her ability to beat Venus Williams and I don't know without checking who she would play in the final, but I suspect the match against Venus is the key one and if she wins that, she'll probably win the title.

Any more knowledgeable tennis fans out there, please feel free to disagree with me! I'm just going on my gut instinct.

Hope Andy can do as well today.

I would be very surprised to see Rybarikova win it, but not as surprised as I was to see Ostapenko to win the French Open :D. Gabi's been in the final before, and won a Grand Slam title before, and she obviously won't have the pressure of the British media, but grass is much more Jo's surface than it is Gabi's and if they meet in the final then I wouldn't like to have to call it. There's an amazing opportunity for any of the four people in the ladies' SFs.

Jo has beaten Venus a few times, 3 to 2 for Venus, I think!

As Alison says, it's a great opportunity / story for any of them - 2nd Grand Slam for Carbine, come back from injury, first GB woman in singles for decades or the mature player who hasn't won a grand slam in years but who is still playing

Delighted to see Federer going through. He must be the favourite but no-one can ever be sure.

It probably is injury that is wrong with Andy but I am never sure what Djokovic is doing.

Sorry to see Jo Konta go out. But I don't think she played as well against Venus as in her previous matches.

I'm now supporting Garbine to win, since I lived in Spain for 11 years. If Jo had won, I would have supported her, on the same principle as supporting an English football team against a Spanish one, but a Spanish one against almost any other nationality.

The bad news is that I have to go for an MRI scan in Liverpool on Saturday morning, so I hope I'll be back in time for the final.

A bit irrelevant, but I hope that whoever sorts out the arrangements for state visits has left tomorrow afternoon free for Felipe, Letizia, William and Kate all to watch the ladies' singles final together in the Royal Box  .

Their official visit ended yesterday, but I'm sure they will have stayed on and will get prime seats.

Makes me wonder whether the timing of the state visit was arranged with Wimbledon in mind, although they couldn't know that Muguruza would make the final. We could even have had a Konta/Muguruza final, which would have made things really interesting!

Edited once to correct typo
