A rather odd statement in the Daily Telegraph recently:

"In two photographs released by Kensington Palace to thank the public for their messages following the birth of Prince Louis and Princess Charlotte's third birthday, the two youngest Cambridges are dressed in outfits which have previously been seen on their younger siblings." Er...

Didn't they, just? The little lad's only just got here, too!

I also suspect that hand-me-downs are nothing new in the royal family. They seem to keep just about everything worth hanging on to anyway. Before I retired I had an enquiry about the outfits Princess Anne and Prince Charles wore for the Queen's Coronation, and did the museum have them? "(I wish!) I think you'll find they're still with the royal family", which they were, in a shoe box...

The Queen was once said to have gone rooting through store-rooms to find Prince Charles' Coronation outfit, so it could be used in a display.

She found it, had it cleaned and sent it to be displayed.
