Am with you entirely, Cal.

Am full of admiration for a friend who also suffered dog mess on a piece of lawn in front of her property. She realised it was the same dog walker every day who let his dog do his business there. One day, she went out, shovelled it up and followed the culprit and his master to their home. She casually tossed it over his garden wall and said, "I think you dropped something". She then left quickly before he had time to react but it never happened again. A high risk strategy perhaps but it worked in this instance!

If I knew who was responsible, I'd be sorely tempted to do the same! I suspect there are one or two regular offenders, but I've never actually seen anyone, as they tend to do it late at night or very early in the morning.

I do agree. Our freemen have to litter-pick regularly because so much rubbish is thrown from moving vehicles on the A14.

And that's not being demolished until 2020.

I saw my doctor on Wednesday. The Ct scan I've just had did not show up my bowels very clearly, so he referred me to the hospital. I've got an appointment on Tuesday morning.

And a good friend has just gone into a hospice with terminal liver cancer.

Sorry to hear that, Jennie.

People with badly-behaved dogs :banghead: :banghead: . However bad Bruno was, at least we never hear about Joey letting him off his lead in a park, with muddy paws, with absolutely no regard for anybody else there. Luckily, I was wearing dark navy trousers, so at least I didn't have to walk around with obvious mudprints on my clothes for the rest of the day. The owner, who was a good 500 yards away, just shouted "Sorry about that" and didn't even come over to apologise properly .

So, down to the hospital this morning in a taxi which cost me £7=20.

I checked in, got my number card, and waited. My number appeared on the screen, so up I got to be met by a very nice young nurse. She took me to an examination room, asked me to sit down, then broke the news that there was no doctor to see me.

I explained my point of view, and to be fair, my taxi back was paid for by the hospital.

Why do they give us early appointments when the first bus to leave our little town arrives at my stop at 9-40.

Uggh!

How disappointing and frustrating for you Jennie - and what a waste of time and resources.

So I went to the hospital again this afternoon.

Saw the specialist, not too bad, but, I've got to have another colonoscopy.

The op itself isn't too bad, what with intravenous sedation and a whole cylinder of gas and air to suck on, it's the cleansing beforehand, which involves major doses of laxatives, so in pain and misery for twenty-four hours.

Sympathiee, Jennie. I've had seversl colonoscopies and I tottally agree thst the cleansing beforehand is much worse thanthe actual procedure.

I was due one soon, as I'm supposed to have one every 3 yesrs, but I had a letter yesterday to say thst I won't be called until June 2020. Presumably because of NHS cutbacks, though the letter didn't say.

Sympathies, Jennie. I've never had one myself but my sister's had a couple and the preparation was highly unpleasant. I hope it all goes as well as possible.

My friend died in the hospice on Saturday. The cancer had spread all over her, and she was very ready to go.

And I've cancelled the appointment for a colonoscopy. I got a call yesterday asking if I could go on Friday. I agreed, then asked a question about stopping one of the many medications I have to take. No answer came, just had the phone put down on me.

Sorry to hear that it got so bad so quickly, Jennie, though at least your friend is now free of her cancer - but as always, one would prefer one's friends to recover...

I've seen two of her children and arranged to go to the church service, but will not go to the crematorium. I've also decided not to attend the burial of the cremated remains.

Jean and the cold earth are not compatible in my mind.
