Just asking for a few more positive thoughts please - tomorrow morning I have an interview for a job I really would like (still within the library service -I must be mad). This is the first interview I’ll have had since my haemorrhage, let alone being for a brilliant job that I’d love.

Unsurprisingly the stress is not helping my head pain, concentration and memory problems and I am terrified.

If I don’t get this job then I have to interview again for another library position (one I have to apply for under the restructure but don’t want) and then if I fail at this they’ll start talking redundancy. I’d rather stay employed by people who know me and can see what I’m capable of but if only it came with less stress.

Oh and I’m still waiting for the follow up scan and neurologist appointment so there is that hanging over me too.

Warm wishes to all who need them, and as ever thanks for listening,
Sarah

Thinking of you Sarah and sending positive thoughts over the airwaves. I hope it goes well.

Also thinking of roversgirl and anyone recovering from ops, and just everyone generally.

Thanks all, I did my best which is all you can do...there was one question I couldn’t answer but I was honest about this and didn’t try bluffing.
I’ll hear by the weekend.

Didn’t get the main job I wanted but I have been offered a job at my current grade that comes with less stress (well once I’ve learned about it!) and no weekend or late night working. I will also be able to negotiate my working hours and days.
It has nothing to do with books, or getting involved in fun library projects but does mean I keep all my holiday/pension/sickness rights and is managed by the same person who has been (mostly) very considerate of my new limitations.
I’m holding on to the small positives and at least now all the work stress is over. Just the anomalous brain scan to worry about now

Thank you all for the support,
Sarah

A shame you didn't get the position you were actually interviewed for, but the one you have been offered sounds like a very promising compromise. No weekend or evening hours, keeping all your benefits and being able to negotiate your working hours and days all seem positive steps to me. I wish you every success. Good wishes too for a positive result from the scan.

I am so glad that a stress-free job has been offered to you with someone who has shown a willingness to accommodate any problems you may have in charge. Fingers crossed it all works out Sarah.
