Thanks, Abbeybufo and Roversgirl. I was speechless and Abbeybufo knows how rarely that happens! :D

congratulations Nicky

A couple of weeks ago, I left a carrier bag on the bus. It contained a book which I had ordered and collected from Waterstones, a new Tshirt and carton of juice. When I got home, I completed an online lost property report with TFL but heard nothing. Today I was out shopping and popped into Waterstones to see if it had been handed in to them which I thought was unlikely. They did not have it but yesterday they got a postcard from TFL addressed to me at their address. They fished it out of the wastepaper basket and I went off to Baker Street and was able to collect my bag book and Tshirt

Congratulations Sealpuppy!

My best friend and I had a brilliant weekend in Liverpool; we saw the Rocky Horror Show for my 12th time, and brilliant atmosphere as ever :)

Jenefer - how marvellous, it's lovely when things like that happen.

Many congratulations Sealpuppy. It’s a great book.

Jenifer - glad you got your property back. It’s always good to know that there are a lot of honest people around.

We went to see Take That in Huddersfield, on Tuesday night. It rained ALL day, then stopped in time for them to come on. Soaked, but brilliant night, and Lu Lu appeared too :)

I'm in Romania. Specifically Transylvania which is beautiful and has some wonderful castles. I can't help thinking it would have been a wonderful alternative CS setting...

I also really enjoyed Kiev which I would thoroughly recommend to anyone who wants a city break a bit off the beaten track. I did a daytrip to Chernobyl which was a unique experience. I've also been to Moldova.

Very kind of my employer to make me redundant thus both facilitating and funding this trip. Which still has a fortnight to go...

That sounds amazing - I've looked at Transylvania, but can't find a trip that works with my preferred times! I went to Kiev/Kyiv in 2008 and found it very interesting - not sure how much it'll have changed since then, though. What a brilliant trip. And, yes, the CS in Transylvania would certainly have been interesting  .

Have fun!

We are just back from Kiev which we enjoyed. There has been a lot of recent development of offices and flats.

We also went to Lviv and Odessa. The three places are quite different and all worth visiting. Our favourite was Odessa

My grandfather on my father's side hailed from Brody, near Lviv (at that time it was Polish Galicia). I have always meant to find my way there but I think maybe that time has passed now....
