I have read most of Barbara Michaels’ books but this is the one that has got away! Three times I have ordered a copy from independent book-sellers via Amazon and three times I have been sent a completely different book (not the same one in each case) and then been told I can keep the book sent in error as they don’t have a copy of Stitches in Time and they also gave me a full refund. These were all UK book-sellers. After this experience, I am reluctant to carry on searching through Amazon.

Help please! Can any CBB-er sell or lend me a copy or recommend an alternative route?

These are the results of a search I've just done in Addall - it's obvious many are the same seller through different 'portals' but you might be able to check directly with the bookseller concerned.

Many thanks abbeybufo. I’ll let you know how I get on.

I love this one, sequel to Shattered Silk. Sadly only have one treasured copy!

Hi Sealpuppy, you make me keener then ever to read it. Ammie Come Home is my favourite.

Abbeybufo thanks for the lead. However, all the sellers based in the USA quoted a ridiculous amount - £15.00 plus - for postage of a paperback. Have now given Amazon one more chance and ordered Stitches in Time from an American seller through them - postage a more sensible £5.00. Fingers crossed!

There's a UK seller here who's selling a copy for 81p + £2.79 postage.

Thanks Annied but this seller was one of three who sent me the wrong book and did not have a copy of Stitches in Time in stock. To be fair they did give me a full refund.

Fingers crossed for you that the US seller comes through with the right book.

I often find that shipping costs from the US are extremely high - and this is on Amazon, eBay and Abebooks. I'm not quite sure what's going on - maybe an American CBB-er can help? - but I'm assuming this is the standard USPS cost, and that the cheaper prices are from people with access to courier services. It's rather frustrating, because I often think I've found a reasonably-priced book, only to find that the shipping charges make it a no-no!

Hooray - Stitches in Time arrived this morning. Can’t see much being done for the rest of the day!!

(Am now on Board as lizco2 as a result of having password re-setting problems)

Just finished Stitches in Time and thoroughly enjoyed it - well worth waiting for. Good to meet up with some of the characters from Ammie Come Home (which remains my favourite) and Shattered Silk.

Glad it lived up to expectations after all that effort on your part!

I have most of Barbara Michaels' books in that name as well as Elizabeth Peters, and I've found a few recently published as ebooks. Wish they'd do them all though, she wrote consistently entertaining, romantic suspense as EP and romance with a touch of supernatural as BM.
I went to the Malice Domestic conference in Washington in 2013 mainly because she was due to speak but sadly she was in hospital by the time of the conference, and died a month or two later.
