Sorry to hear of the death of Jill Paton Walsh. Reunited with Lord Peter Wolsey and Harriet Vane. RIP.

Although I thought she did a good job on continuing the story of the Wimsey family, and better than many 'continuation' writers' I always regarded A Parcel of Patterns as her masterpiece. She'll be missed.

I think Goldengrove and Unleaving were some of her best work.

I knew her and her 2nd husband John Rowe Townsend quite well in the late 1990s and early 2000s, but we lost touch when the CLNE conferences ceased in 2006.

The Daily Telegraph obit was pretty thorough. (You may need to get a free month's trial to read it if you aren't a subscriber.)

Strangely, I was just thinking about A Parcel of Patterns, after watching the Channel 5 series on the plague. Excellent book.

Oh what a shame. I really enjoyed her continuation of the Wimsey books.

I haven't read any of her children's books; I have have to change that!
