Please post here about any problems you have with the SDL.

I tried to post a random story I had floating about on my pc and got this message ?

A fatal MySQL error was encountered.
Could not insert story into stories table.
Error: (1064) You have an error in your SQL syntax. Check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near 's', now(), now(), '27', '1', '', '', '3358', '')' at line 1

Edit tried it a few times now - it was St Hild's if that makes a difference - my other one (not St Hilds) was fine

I'm having this problem too, again in St. Hild's.

Also - and this might just be me being dense - how do you post a story in chapters? Do you have to post the first chapter and then add subsequent chapters to it?

Before the forum was hacked I was halfway through reading a wonderful story called a Chalet Girl in Trouble but it's no longer in the SDL. Is there a reason for this?

It's been serialised on the Gateway Monthly. There's all sorts of other interesting stuff in there too.

ooo, thanks Pat! I love this story! Does this mean it's getting published in book form?

No. Gateway is an online mag, and doesn't pay authors or anything. but you should be able to catch up there. Alternatively, you could email LisaT and ask for a transcript. She's stil a member though she doesn't come on much now.

It should just be 'Add New Series' Mia - I'm fairly sure that's how I put Dark Times on.

Thanks Jackie. I'd messed it up quite spectacularly, so will delete and try again!

 I'm probably missing something incredibly obvious, but does anyone know why when I copy-and-paste from Word to the SDL sometimes all the paragraph formatting disappears completely, and the text size changes randomly mid-chapter? The formatting I can usually (tediously!) put right, but I can't work out how to alter the text size.

I've been trying to add a story and keep getting the following message:

Quote:
A fatal MySQL error was encountered.
Could not insert story into stories table.
Error: (1044) Access denied for user: 'dbo162464937@%' to database 'db162464937'

Any ideas? I've added stories before with no problems.

Is anyone else having trouble logging into her account on the SDL? What I thought was my password didn't work, so I decided I must be remembering it wrong and sent for a new one, and that doesn't work either.

ETA: Have now been able to log in with my *old* password, and upload and preview, but got the MySQL error when I clicked 'Add Story'

I could be wrong but I think the Sally Denny Library is down, even google bookmarks keep giving me the same message that there is a fatal syntax error? :(

Yep, it's a touch broken at the moment. I'm working on it, but it won't be a quick fix, I'm afraid.

Is the SDL still down? I've been trying to locate two drabbles: Lesley's My Friend drabble and Ellie's Tensions one but all I get is a Fatal Error message :(
