Can anyone explain to me in simple language how to post on the Sally Denny library? Thought I'd got it but it seemed to want to post in the wrong place.

I struggle a little with instructions which is why I need simple :?

Thanks

This sounds promising, Terrygo...

It does partly depend on whether you're wanting to review or post a new story. In either case (unless you're happy to review anonymously) you will need to have registered; have you done this yet?

Also, just a tip... if you post this in 'Ask the Librarian' you might be likely to get more answers as I suspect more SDLers tend to hang out there!

Anyway, if you need talking through registering let me know!

I am registered there, I actually found here from there if that makes sense lol.

Not sure about promising but I have a longer story in the writing that I am trying to get the courage to post, with chapters and all, and from what I've seen that's the place to do it. Also got a couple of shorter ones that I've already posted elsewhere.

I'm very new at this so any help would be marvellous!

I think the answer you need is in this thread

It's something to do with how you turn off the MCE - but it's so long ago that we were sorting it out that I forget exactly...

Anyone help me with a spacing issue I have in the library? Tried to input a new chapter, and the spacing is too wide, then I noticed the previous chapter had gone like it, even though it was fine last night.

Thanks.

Ach, I never know how to fix the spacing... drives me bonkers... sometimes I spend ages faffing around fixing it, sometimes I just can't be bothered and leave it as it is. Sorry, not much help I know!

I paste as plain text but that comes with its own downsides - bold and italics and stuff like that doesn't come out and you have to preview before you submit (otherwise it comes out with a load of HTML code visible which makes it difficult to read). (I find it's still a lower faff option than going through and removing all the spaces, though) You could also just have one enter between paragraphs rather than two while writing.

It depends if you already have a space between paragraphs before you paste, Terry, because SDL puts a space in automatically, so you then get a huge gap. I did what Abbeybufo suggested and switched off the MIC, which worked for me.

PM me if you want and I'll see if I can help.
