One thing I'm dying to know is how do I get a picture under my name like everyone else. Sorry, I've never managed to work that one out and always been meaning to ask. Can anyone help please?

If you go to profile (at the top of the page) and scroll all the way down to the bottom, there's a button which says 'show gallery'. You should see all the avatars and once you've selected one you like, go to the bottom of that page and click 'select avatar'. After that, you should click submit on the bottom of the profile page. It takes a while to choose, as there are so many nice ones!

Having resurfaced on the board after a considerable hiatus (two years away!), I was wondering - is there any rule about restarting a drabble that was never finished? Can I repost what I had previously posted, and then continue where I left off? I don't think it's been archived, because it wasn't complete, so I won't be clogging up the archives with a second version of the same story.

Please do, and welcome back!

Unfortunately what you wrote was probably lost when the board was hacked, but we'd love it to be posted again please. :D

Someone - think it was Mrs Redboots - wrote a fab drabble about the Marlows at St Mildred's - where can I find it please? (And is she going to send it to FOCS?)

Ta-dah! I've no idea about the FoCS question though.

I was just wondering - how long does it (usually) take for a new member to have their account activated? I registered a while ago (over a month) but haven't had my account activated yet.

If it's just that there's a backlog or that I've been overlooked amongst all the spammers or that there's a mass-account activation every three months or something I'll totally understand, I'm just a little worried that I've done something wrong!

I don't know the official answer. I hope a mod will come along and tell you soon. But I think it looks as though there's just a backlog because of all the spammers. The sheepdogs have been trying to keep on top of it, and contact new sheep, but we suspect our PMs aren't getting through at the moment, possibly because the account hasn't been activated, and that's beyond our control. Sorry! I hope yours (and everybody else who's not a spammer's) gets activated soon.

I think it is Liss alone who activates new accounts, but I'll try to bring this to her attention asap. Sorry for the wait!

Hi, i have an odd question.
I was reading nickyj's drabble 'the chalet school and the marlows' and i wondered if anyone either had a copy of it in a word doc or knew if there was anymore as the story stops abruptly with no explanation as to why and there's a post missing in the middle :? . I've sent a PM to her but it looks like she hasn't been on CBB for a while.
Any help would be appreciated.

I haven't read the drabble in question, but sometimes people do just stop abrutly. Either they loose inspiration, or real life means that they are too busy for a while, or circumstances mean that they have no access to the internet for a while.

There may be a copy in the Sarah Denny Library, which would exclude all the comments, or you may find more in the archives - there is an index in (I think) Ste Therese.

How does the friend and foe thing work? I just had a quick look at my PM box to see what the features were, and that was the only thing that wasn't fairly obvious.

Thank you.

It's kind of an address book as far as I can tell. I've actually disabled it currently because I just read about it being a possible code risk... sorry if you were looking forward to using it!

No, no - just mystified, since when I clicked a profile (of another user) I couldn't see a way of friend-ing or foe-ing her. If it's disabled, that would probably explain it
