Hi all,
I'm back after a long time away from the boards (so long that I've forgotten my old username and had to re-register...)

Does anyone know what's happened to the transcripts website? I'm steadily buying as many reprints as I can, but I liked having the site as backup/for those I hadn't got hold of yet. The website's still up but the transcripts seem to have gone.

Thanks.

Pressure was applied and they were pulled. At least, that's what I understood.

Thank you. I had assumed something along those lines, but it's sad to have it confirmed.

OK, so I've been away for several months, come back & everything has changed :( I've spent ages trying to navigate round & I have some questions:
Are all of the drabbles in SDL now? (cos I can't find RCS & I hoped there's would be a brand new drabble :dontknow: )
Is there a sort of general guide for getting around? I guess if I'd been checking in more regularly I would have kept pace with the changes but it's been a difficult year.

Thanks in advance to whoever takes the time to help out this bewildered CBB-er x

Not all the fiction is in the SDL - only that which the authors have moved, and new stories since the changeover. The old ones can be found via the Index drabbleorum (sp?) which is in the forum Stacie Benson's Reading Notes

Thank you Ivohenry - I have found RSC  (no new one since I was last here though :bawling: ) I guess it will be an interesting journey wandering round & finding where everything is.

I'm trying to remember how the board was laid out before... amazing how quickly you get used to things!

The discussion sections have been switched around a bit - 'Special Sixth' sort of replaces Formal Discussions, but the discussions are started by anyone instead of being formally stared. 'Lemon Biscuits and Liberty Bodices' is similar to 'Anything Else' and is for the more trivial discussions, and then there's 'South Shields' which is about EBD and real life stuff about the books, and 'Thrilling Terms at La Rochelle' for EBD's non-CS work.

The Raiding the Library section is the closest thing on the CBB to the drabble sections. 'SDL Updates' links to the equivalents on SDL of the Houses on the old Board. 'Stacie Benson' is discussions on CS fanfic and 'Joey's Trunk' is for ideas, challenges and quests for info. 'Ask The Librarian' is for any difficulties or questions you have with SDL.

I think the official and off-topic sections are more or less the same as they were, with 'Rose Garden' replacing 'Completely Off Topic'.

I'm sure you'll soon work out what's going on, though! :D

Well, the whole site just had a Not Being There moment for me! Luckily it came back again...

I just wondered, why are we requested to limit the use of the blushing smiley in Special Sixth?

Because the Special Sixth forum discussions are meant to be more serious than other fora, and the : oops : smiley that comes out as a blushing face had sometimes been used, in the 'Formal Discussions' forum that preceded it, either to trivialise what was being said, or occasionally to try and 'excuse' otherwise unpleasant comments.

Sorry if this has been covered elsewhere, but what are the stars and statements such as 'giving as junior an order mark' above the avatars all about???? :?:

They relate to your post count. Each time you add to your post count you move forward a little on your journey as a CS girl and after a certain number of posts you get a star.

I think the board defaults to GMT, so you'll only need to change it when the clock changes.
