The software calls it UTC (universal co-ordinated time, I think). Partly because France and various other countries don't like using such a British-sounding term as GMT , and partly because UTC's now the official scientific term. Or something like that :D .

I think I read there were two parts of the messageboard which you had to message someone to get into...I can only see one though (Kaffee und Kuchen), what is the other one and how do I get to it? :)

There used to be separate fora, one for big gathers and one for smaller get-togethers, but they were merged into one. Or you might be thinking of the St Hild's forum, which was merged with Completely Off Topic to form the Rose Garden :D and is now open to everyone. Kaffee und Kuchen's the only one you need to ask someone about now, anyway :D .

Hope that helps :D .

Please, is there a list anywhere that shows how the books relate to school terms at the CS? And is there an agreed 'start date' for the school, in relation to Exile and the Anschluss?

If there is can someone point me in the right direction?

There's this list of books found in Joey's Trunk.

In Exile, Joey tells Janie Lucy that she'll be 22 in November. That's the November of 1939, as it's the year the Second World War breaks out, meaning that Joey was born in 1917. Joey is 12 when the CS opens, and as her birthday's in November that makes it 1930. However, School At was published in 1925 .

The school's 21st anniversary should, if we take 1930 as being the start date, be in 1951, when the triplets are 11 1/2. However, in Coming of Age they are 13 1/2.

I'm a historian and like dates to tie in. It does my head in that they don't , but whichever way you work it things end up going wrong  .

The list of how books tie in with school terms is here.

Query about the Delete button - it only seems to appear on a new post while it is the most recent one. As soon as there's another post, the Delete button goes. Is this how it works? I thought we used to be able to delete our posts at a later stage?

You can't delete a post once someone else has replied to that thread, and I don't *think* you ever could (although I may be wrong), but you can reopen it and edit it, if that helps :D .

Is it possible to edit posts on archived threads? Also, what happens to the deleted threads?

You can't delete posts in archived threads. The archiving process saves them as one file, not individual posts.

Deleted threads are just that. We don't archive everything eg games or the lighter threads in LB&LB.

Thanks - I've always meant to ask!

The book discussions and books and characters archives links are bringing up a message saying "This domain name is already registered" - am I being thick, or is that what's supposed to happen?

That isn't supposed to happen.

I've just got into a couple without any problems.

I went into Special Sixth, then the Archive thread and then clicked on a few discussions. Was that was what you did?

I went in through the Board Archive thread in School Noticeboard.
If I use the link you've mentioned, most of the threads are fine, but I've encountered the same problem with one or two threads there too.

Sorry, ETA - just wanted to say, I didn't intend to sound like I was complaining, just wanted to draw someone's attention to it in case there was some problem going on!

I've just had a look at them, and sadly it seems that the links to the very early threads archived off the first board through Lycos no longer work.

However, using The Internet Archive you can get them back. So from here you would need the url of the link (right click - properties- copy and paste). You can then use this in the Internet Archive to get any old thread. That is if you find anything you think worth the effort ;)

ETA: Well not all of them, as the Internet Archive doesn't seem to capture anything. There were things up there a few years ago which have now gone. Does anyone remember any of the old urls?

Hello, sorry to be the person who has to ask: how do I change my password? A new one was sent to me and I've used it to log in and now I want to change it. I know I need to do this via the profil page but I can't find the profile page...

Thanks!

If you click on user control panel (at the top), then profile (on the left) then accounts settings, you can change your password in there :D .
