Does anyone know whether Foyles in London have stopped stocking GGB? I couldn't find any when I was in there recently.

When I was in Foyles in October last year there were two shelves of GGB books. However, they weren't where they had been on my previous visit and I had to search around to find them. They seem to move about!

I went in last year and they had some then. Shops do have an annoying habit of moving stuff around, though!

I couldn't find them at all when I went at the end of December.

They had them when I was there two weeks ago. Less than I remember from my previous visit, but that was over three years ago, so my memory might not be too accurate.

They were in the childrens classics section, on the left hand side on a very low shelf - maybe one or two shelves up from the floor. I didn't see them initially, but came across them when I was looking through the books there.

GGBP are doing Theodora this year :D Clarissa announced it in the weekly GGBP newsletter. It won't be on the GGBP website for another week so you can't order it from GGBP yet.

They are also doing Highland Holiday by Jane Shaw and Redshank's Warning by Malcolm Saville (first of the Jillies series)

What happened to the one CS book a year policy? Exploits was also published this year wasn't it?

I'm quite happy about this, because somehow I was convinced that they would keep Theodora for last (maybe because it was the one I really wanted to read unabridged), but I am also surprised. I wonder if it indicates a new policy of two new CS books a year?

How different is the unabridged version of Theodora?

According to the GGBP website the paperback was heavily abridged. That normally means significant chunks of text or a minor subplot was completely removed.

As far as I can see from GGBP's list of all Books Ever Printed, and a quick check on my own shelves, (I'm lucky enough to have the whole series in hb, though some are more battered than others!) the Chalet School series titles which they have never published are:
Peggy of the CS, Theodora (which is coming out soon) A Leader in the CS and The CS Wins the Trick.

Some of the other titles have been published twice, but according to the list, only Tom Tackles the CS, Shocks for the CS, Changes for the CS, The CS and Barbara and Jane of the CS are still in print. That isn't to say that some of the dealers don't have copies of some of the titles which are no longer available directly from GGBP.

Just looked at their website - they did Richenda last year, but otherwise list is correct, so 7 titles.

They are also publishing Exile again to commemorate the 80th anniversary of the start of WWII. So in fact that will be 3 CS books this year.

Actually the policy was one new book (i.e. one they hadn't done before) per year. They've done two or three Chalet titles in total (excluding fill-ins) every year for the last decade or more.
