I'm so relieved to read that isn't the final cover. It's hideous!

It looks as though it has been taken from one of the Chalet Annuals one of the two featuring Tom.

I will be pleased if they use that picture because I really like it, but I am sure they will make the cover look more like all the others.

It's probably the easiest approach because it means not having to address all of the difficult part while Marilyn was Head Girl. I had been thinking of trying to write that period and always came up against the challenge of the school having to behave in a very un-Chalet-like way of letting everything go to pieces and not really doing anything to fix it. I dare say that was why EBD herself never addressed the issue of bad Head Girls, despite mentioning them several times in various books including the La Rochelle series.

I'm sure many people would like to read about the whole Marilyn part, regardless of how un-Chalet-like it would be. IMO EBD should have addressed bad head girls, it's a flaw in the series.

I'm very excited! I hope Marilyn features even a little bit. I'd love to see someone take on her tenure.

GGBP have updated their forthcoming books. They're reprinting Changes which will be available at the end of November and they're publishing Rivals at the end of February.

I'm very happy about these - I haven't bought any new ones except from the Ency part 2 today. I was going to buy Mystery but would rather have Changes instead.

Yes, clearly a re-worked version of the cover of The Second Chalet Book for Girls! I'd always pictured Betsy Lucy as having short hair...

I'm just glad they're finally choosing a new Chalet School book I don't have. I have a copy of Changes from their last print run. And Champion looks interesting too.

Mine arrived on Saturday morning and I had to read it at once! Really enjoyed it but would still like the "Marilyn" terms to be covered!
