I'm very annoyed about the Rosalie cover as now it doesn't match the others!

Surely the Encyclopedia is this year's "annual" fill-in?

Nope, we've had a fill-in as well as the encyclopedia every year for the past three years.

Ooh, I love all the nagging and chanting!

Okay, I'm obviously not going to tell you everything, but here are a few hints:

The title is _________ at the Chalet School.
One aspect of the book is similar to another fill-in from several years ago.
One of the central characters is someone I have not really included in my previous fill-ins.
The era is the same as one of my other fill-ins.
The cover comes from a book written by an author GGB have previously published. The cover is not from the GGB title.

Any other vague and interesting points I can include that will drive you mad with impatience?

You want more vague and annoying hints? Glutton for punishment!

Okay:
The one new girl of the term reappears a number of times through the series. She has appeared in another of my fill-ins.
Other central characters in my book will go on to play major roles in later books.
This term features two new staff members, one of whose early time at the school we do not see.
Several relatively small events in my book play key roles in later stories.

That should do you! Let's see some guesses!

Ooh sounds very intriguing... OK my guess is that it's the term before "Exile" and focussing on the form which has Betty and Elizabeth, and perhaps Hilary as Head Girl?

The Title is Bake off at the Chalet School
It's about attempts to broker peace between Karen and Anna over who bakes the best biscuits
Central character is schoolgirl Mary Berry (very, very young)
Era is the same as Peace, but a wee bit after
Cover is - cakes! (well duh)
The 'relatively small events that play an important part later on' include Dumbledore telling Miss Annersley the secret of never having to wear glasses; a sub-plot involving an explorer called Trelawney saying to his wife that if anything happens to him she's to send their shy daughter to the Chalet School to bring her out of herself; and an inattentive prefect reading the triplets stories from the bible but telling Con that Daniel ate the lion.

Am I close, KB?
