Please post all news relating to GGBP here so we can all keep up to date with what EBD titles and fill in's are to be published.

I for one am very happy to see Head Girl on the list of forthcoming titles!

I am also excited! Is Triplets cut please? I have lost the link to the database. I have it in paperback but I am not sure whether it is worth buying the GGBP copy.

In my list it says that cuts are minor and infrequent. I think I shall still get it just to make a complete collection once they've finally printed them all.

I agree about them making it clear when they're re-printing ones they've already done before, it can get confusing.

I found there was quite a difference between the Armada and the hardback Triplets, and would definitely recommend buying the GGB version. Those minor cuts can make the story feel different in places.

I got my copy of the encyclopedia yesterday and am very impressed and in awe of all the hard work which has gone into it.

I spent last night un-ravelling the Atherton/Blakely/Willoughby families which I have never fully understood before. Only annoying thing is couldn't look at the Willoughby descriptions - am I right that Rosamund and Con Atherton and Nan Blakeley all married brothers?

I was also wondering about Cesca's father as it indicates in I think her entry that he is still alive when she is born but can't cope with a baby in addition to her elder siblings after his wife dies so she is adopted by her half sister. It seems pretty hard on Cesca that she's the only one to be shipped off, are there any further mentions of her father and siblings and what happens to them?

Hmmm it seems that the encylopedia has answered some of my questions but left me with more!

Almost - Con's husband Rex and Nan's husband David are brothers, being the second and fifth children of Sir Piers Willoughby and his late wife Madeleine. Rosamund's husband Nigel is Sir Piers' younger brother, so is Rex and David's uncle.

Thanks - I don't know if that is better or worse! Lets hope their children branched out to some different families.

Just a reminder that Girls Gone By will be closed from the end of business on August 9 until 9 am on August 19. As usual, they will not be responding to e-mails during that period, though the website will be checked daily in case any problems arise with it. So if you haven't ordered any of the new titles Clarissa posted this week in Forthcoming Books, you may wish to do so this coming week!

I'm still swithering over whether to buy the two I have in hardback just for the sake of supporting GGBP :? .........did someone say "more money than sense"?

Wouldn't it be better value for you and just as good for GGBP if you bought a couple of their titles you didn't have, though?

Now that's a thought, Noreen! Off to check the non-Chalet School output....................

GGBP has just announced Chalet School World: Short Stories by Helen Barber, as one of two new titles to be published mid-late November. The other title is The Man with Three Fingers, by Malcolm Savile. If you ordered either Head Girl of the CS or Wild Goose Quest by DFB, these were delivered from the printer's yesterday, so pre-ordered copies will shortly be en route. Also CS Triplets and Henrietta's House are expected from the printer's on November 8.

Interesting - I stopped being a member of FOCS a year or so ago, so does anyone who still is a member know if these are new stories by Helen or a compilation of stories already published in the FOCS magazine? Or, indeed, a mixture?

Caroline, I believe these are a mixture of new stories and chapters/sections that never made it into her other fill-ins.

The "blurb" on the GGBP website doesn't say whether any of the stories have previously appeared in the FOCS magazine - you can find the full description at www.ggbp.co.uk under "Forthcoming books"

Thanks - I did read the GGBP blurb, but it doesn't mention the origins of the stories, so that's good to know.

Just to let you know that GGBP are now closed until Monday week, October 28th. They will be checking the website daily to ensure there are no problems there and will deal with any orders received during their break as soon as they reopen.
Also, for those who are wondering, Clarissa has posted a clarification of the content of "Chalet School World": All stories in this book are completely new, written especially for this collection.

Does anyone know if the GGBP "Joey and Robin in India" is going to be ready soon? I think just over a year ago it was still at writing and editing stage...really looking forward to this one!

Also any news on any other potential fill-ins? The Helen Barber short story collection looks as if it will be good, but I was wondering about the next full-length story in the pipeline, even if not finished yet...?

GGB's India story is still very much at the early stages of editing so it certainly won't be ready in the next few months. I wouldn't even want to guarantee that it would even be coming out by the end of next year. I believe there are a few other fill-ins in progress, but I don't have the details. (So that was a pretty useless post - sorry!)
