Caroline is also one of the dealers on the GGBP list and a regular 'Gatherer', too.

Sorry if this is a tad irrelevant, but any idea if they'll be re-printing some of the first published books and if so when?

I really, really want a complete collection one day (as in, a life ambition fulfilled) but I missed them when they first started, and I think there's about five I still need to get which are out of print. So while I am always a fan of new prints coming out (and thankyou for letting us know!) I do sometimes have small panic attacks that I'll end up spending hundreds and hundreds of pounds getting the couple that I missed...

My small panic attacks happen when I think I'll die before I have the complete, unabridged, collection again ...

GGBP has just announced Jo of the CS to be published in September. Plus a previously unpublished book by Gwendoline Courtney called Mermaid House!

I have just seen on the GGBP website that A Difficult Term for the Chalet School is to be published in early August. I can't wait!

I just read the description of Leith and Friends and it says it's the only book by Clare Mallory to be set in England. I'm sure I read it not so long ago, when I discovered she was actually a New Zealander, with a view to trying to discover whether it was set in NZ or not. I can't remember finding any confirmation either way and I am wondering what the basis is for the statement.....(I may of course have missed some vital piece of proof :? )

And, isn't Juliet Overseas set in England? I haven't read Leith so can't comment on that but Juliet is definitely in the UK.

Juliet certainly is. I'm not sure there are any definite clues in Leith (haven't read it for a while), but it certainly feels like England. These are the only two that were published in UK, so this may be a pointer.

Well it's true that it never occurred to me as a child that it might not have been England, but I didn't know then that Clare Mallory was from New Zealand. That's why I reread it to try to work it out - without success.....

I see that Girls Gone By will publish Jo of the CS in September.

I have only the paperback version - which is of course one of my favourites - with the Christmas Scene. I was wondering whether to put it on the wish list, so if someone who has read the full hardback version can tell me - is there a lot more detail ( especially Christmas scenes) in the full version than the paperback? I know about the GGBP list of what cuts were made - but I am especially keen about this title.

Thanks!

Thanks!

I will probably end up getting it - but just wanted to know what sort of things were left out, if any.

It would be worth getting Jo of the CS - for the pics and illustrations that GGBP will include.

Clarissa just emailed this to Girls Own:

Quote:
Our first ebook is up, so please do go ahead and order. Go to the site and you will see ebooks at the top of the page or go to http://www.ggbp.co.uk/ebooks

I have ordered our 2nd title, and assuming sales are good enough then we will go ahead.
