I assume that the stories in the archive aren't anywhere else and if they're not finished in there, they're just unfinished?

I was reading a really good one but couldn't find the ending! :) (I think it was called something like "Gabby Goes To School" or similar - about a blind girl at the Chalet School)

I'm afraid that is the case. Sometimes life overtakes people mid-drabble, and for whatever reason they never finish it. :(

Occasionally people come back and finish things, which would nowadays need to be done in SDL, of course, but sometimes they have left the CBB altogether, or lost all inspiration...

Yes, unfortunately Gabby was never finished.

In the Index Drabble-orum, here are some things to look for concerning whether or not a drabble is complete:

A one part drabble should be complete unless it has some indicator such as (incomplete) or "the beginning of."

When a multi-part drabble is complete, the last part should say "final part" instead of just giving a part number.

Some drabbles are continued in the Sally Denny Library. They should say, "continued in the SDL", where the lime green SDL is the link to the beginning of that story in the SDL.

Plain SDL links just mean the story has also been posted in the SDL. Reposting in the SDL is especially useful for stories whose formatting was lost when the board was hacked, or for those who prefer to read stories uninterrupted by comments.

When links don't work or something isn't marked correctly in the index, I'm the one to PM!

As a newcomer, I'm not sure if this link is to all of the archive, or if there's more elsewhere. (I'm hoping there is!)
http://www.the-cbb.co.uk/board/archive/ ... 270311.htm

It's a story about four twins from the Abbey series arriving at the Chalet School, by a member called Rosalin. Is what is there at the above link as much as there is anywhere? Or is there somewhere else I should be searching?

I don't think that one was ever finished. There are a lot of drabbles which started brilliantly but were never finished due to real life inconveniently hijacking people's time!

Thanks for this information. I understand about real life interfering - but what a pity! Roses at the Chalet School was really on target as a crossover and character study.
