There is an annoying cut off after 25 stories. Kathryn had a great way of getting round this but I can't recall it immediately - I will try to track down the post for you, Gem.

Using the search for whoever the author is was the workaround, I think.

Yes - you should go to Search, then type in "Finn" as the pen name and all my drabbles should appear. Or anyone else's, if you search for their names ;)

Wot they did say :-D that works.

There's an ancient help thread here called Member Hints for SDL :-

viewtopic.php?f=38&t=9690

I have that on a reminder system, so if anyone posts a question there I will usually try to respond, as will other SDL addicts who have found answers in the past :-)

Thank you all!! That seems like a bit of a failing on the system's part. On the plus side, it means I can now hopefully find lots more fics :) Is there a similar problem with tags for characters, does anyone know? My usual approach to SDL is just to go to the advanced search and select a character that I want to read about, but maybe typing the name in the search box would be a better approach.

Nah, with characters you're completely fine. :D

People mentioned LGM at the start of this thread. What does it stand for? (Apologies if this information is somewhere and/or it's a really obvious thing!)

It's Lime Green Musing, a forum for CS drabbles run by Lesley.

LGM stands for Lime Green Musing - it's a site set up for drabbles that can be posted the way we used to on here, before all the fiction was moved to the SDL - i.e. with comments after each posting. It can be reached here.

I'm new to all this fan-fiction, and haven't written any fiction since I did my English GCSE 20 years ago.
But I am really enjoying reading everything, both here and on LGM. Please please don't stop! You are all amazing.
(It has put a lot of ideas in my head though...I might attempt to write a story, who knows?)

Go for it, Ronaele! It was a random topic on this forum that spurred me back into writing after too long a break...

I prefer the SDL, to be honest. It's probably because that's the system I used first. I do plan to post MM on LGM, but the fact that I'm no longer writing into the box and completing chapters bit by bit using the "edit" button means that updates are going to be coming in more slowly. When GCSEs hit, I'm probably going to start writing more often.

The original meaning in fan fiction was a piece of only a few words - was it 100?

But on here it means anything that constitutes a fill-in, continuation, wild flight of fancy etc. At one time we had them on the CBB itself, but the constraints of size allowed meant they had to be moved off, which is why SDL in its second incarnation, and LGM came into being.
