Can anyone remember who wrote the above drabble? I am watching 'Gaudy Night' and have a fancy to read it again.

This is very spooky. I went into the SDL to look for it and it was the random story

It's by Ela. I'd have loved to see the end of the story but then again, it may well have been sad.

ETA- there are 883 stories on there!!

In Sayers' version of events, St-George is killed-in-action.

That was what I meant about the sad ending (although Ela might have changed it).

Probably a good thing Ela didn't finish it then! I was glad to re-read it add I remember enjoying it when it was being written and I read all the DLS books as a result.

I like how well this drabble fits in with DLS. I can see St George moving on from his silly women to someone like Stacie (and like Harriet).

Yipes, spoilers! I hadn't got that far in Sayers' universe yet.

Well, as Jerry's death doesn't actually happen in DLS published works but only in hypothetical notes she left, Ela could choose not to regard it as canon but let him be happy with Stacie - which is what I choose to believe happens :-)

I'm currently reading Jill Paton Walsh's continuations, in which she draws on DLS's notes. But I agree, since DLS didn't write it in a published work, I choose not to regard JPW as canon, but just another bit of fanfic or AU.
