For this year’s Advent Drabbles, we’d like to ask people to write a short story about Christmas in a particular year in CS-land. It can (and indeed may) be about any character or characters.

If you would like to take part, please PM yours truly, and let me know:

a - whether you’ve got any preference for a particular time period – Tyrol era, British Isles era, Swiss era, pre-school era/post-school era.
b - if you are prepared to do more than one, and, if so, how many.
c - if there is a particular week/time that would be difficult for you to post your piece, so that you aren't asked to post on a day when you need to be doing something else.

It shouldn’t be a problem if more than one person ends up writing about any particular year, as everyone will have their own ideas and preference as to characters, but ideally we’d like to make sure that there’s at least one story per CS year/day of Advent.

In line with last year, the idea is to post the stories anonymously, as "Round Robin", and then have a 'reveal' in the New Year. If you haven't initially volunteered but are later struck by inspiration :D , please just ask for Round Robin's password. The list of which Christmas has been allocated to which day of Advent will be posted later on.

So please get thinking, and PM me by November 22nd if you'd like to join in.

:santa: :santa: :santa:

For anyone who isn't on LGM, the Advent Drabbles for the 22nd, 23rd and 24th, together with an additional drabble kindly provided by Brie, were posted on there. I'm going to copy them over here now (I am rather lacking anything to do at work today).

I know that some people like to guess the authors, so feel free to do so if you like :D .

Aha, so Cestina was the mouse lady. Should've guessed with the dolls house motif :)

Thanks again, everybody - a veritable feast.

You got me right though, well played. :D

Thanks everyone who took part, and of course Alison for running the show.

Yes thanks Alison!

That reminds me that I need to get back to reading about Pheobe! I've still to read your latest installment I think- something lovely to look forward to.

Aw thanks. :D I really want to get on with part 8, but time is something I've been sorely lacking recently.

Someone asked about transferring the drabbles to the SDL. If anyone wants to copy their drabble over there, I've set up a series called Advent Drabbles 2015. I think I've done it so that drabbles by other people can be added to it, although I'm not sure if I have to do the adding or not :?. If you call your drabble "Advent Drabbles 2015 - day 1" (or whatever day) and give us a shout, I'll put it into the series and put it in the right order.

Thanks, Alison. I'm looking forward to re-reading them later in the year!

I've added mine and have put them in the series - if anyone doesn't know how to do this, you put your drabble up, then you go to the series (here), click 'Add to series', and then click the checkbox next to the drabble you want to add and press submit at the bottom. On the next page you can click the arrows next to each drabble to re-order them. :)

Thanks everyone. It's a while since I wrote a drabble but I really enjoyed writing it and appreciate all the comments. 11 years ago my parents went to Africa for 2 months. I made plans for Christmas and decided not to go but I still missed them very much, especially when they first went. I drew on this experience to write this drabble.

I would be happy to add my drabble to the SDL if I'm able to remember my username and password.

SDL wasn't allowing me to copy and paste last night but I'll try again today.

Have filed mine (eventually), put one in order, realised I'd called the other the wrong day, eventually managed to edit it, but have failed to pop it into its proper slot. Sorry!
