Hallo everyone!

I have just realised that perhaps not everyone has had the latest news concerning the NCC journal which was supposed to be out in December, starring our advent letters from 2014.

In October of last year, the father of Joy, who was in charge at the NCC end of things, died very suddenly, and I gather from her that this has had a knock-on effect on the publication of the journal.

I'm sure everyone will be very understanding of the reasons for the delay. Joy has indicated that it should be out some time this month, but I will keep you informed of any developments.

Thanks for your patience, chaps!

NCC journals should be either winging their way or actually on the doormat! And jolly lovely they look too :)

Do all advent letter writers get one or only those who subscribe to the journal?

I got a copy in today's post, and I don't subscribe to the journal, so I assume everyone'll get one.

Oh excellent news. I got one when my Tom article was in it. Nice to get another.

Thanks for that update, Finn, I was wondering when I might see my copy - with luck sometime next week then.

Had mine this week - enjoyed re-reading the 1914 letters, and much else to enjoy.

Susan, who does the stuffing & posting for NCC, is in trouble at the moment, as her father has had a bad stroke. According to her FB post, it was a massive bleed type and the prognosis is not good. She had posted most of the UK mags when this happened, but not at that stage the overseas ones. So some of the 'extra' copies may not have gone out at the same time as the main lot, and the overseas ones have, I believe, now just gone.
As Joy, the editor, lost her father suddenly in the autumn, this particular issue of the NCC Journal has been rather under a cloud...

Thanks for this Abbeybufo - if the overseas copies have only just been posted, I'll know not to expect mine until late next week at the earliest. Sending positive thoughts to Susan and to Joy.

I've just put a thanks on their FB page for sending the extra copies to the contributors who aren't members of NCC. If anyone hasn't had theirs by Monday, please let me know, with your postal address, and I'll check that they had it...

Mine arrived this morning. I was totally thrown by, having for some inexplicable reason expected our last lot of Advent tales to appear, finding the letters....

This despite the heading at the top of this thread

I too send positive thoughts to both Susan and Joy.

Just to say that Susan's father died on Wednesday, but she says all the journals have now been posted out, so if you were an advent drabbler from 2014 and didn't get yours, let me know.

I received my copy on Monday; it's really nice to see all the letters in print and to re-read them. :D Thank you to all the authors. (Note to self: remember to keep this issue, not recycle it after a year, which is what I now have to do with all my magazines - just not enough space to keep them for longer! )

I've just found this, I thought I was one of the advent contributors, but didn't get anything, or see this thread. Is obviously too late to ask them now, esoecially if they've had such stresses, but if someone has one and I'm in there, if you are going to get rid of it, I'd happily pay for it.

If not then could someone take a picture for me and send it to me? I do remember there being something where a drabble I did was I thought among those being published, but maybe I got the years mixed up?

Just checked my copy, and you did day 22, from Bruno. I could photocopy and scan it and e-mail it over, but I would think they'd have some spare copies which'd be nicer :D . Is anyone here involved in the running of the NCC?

Not involved in the NCC, but will contact Joy and/or Susan who are respectively the editor and 'poster-out' as I'm not sure who holds the spares.

Beecharmer can you PM me your postal address - I know I've got it somewhere, but thats will probably be quicker than me looking for it!

Thank you ! :-) I really don't think I had a copy, though my memory is pretty rubbish this year, my wife says I didn't either, and she would remember. I'll PM my address, thanks abbeybufo.
