Currently reading this and enjoying it. I know it was briefly discussed on here in 2011, but (a) the topic is long since archived and (b) hardly anybody seemed to have read it, since it was an obscure title and GGBP didn't republish it until 2012. Has anyone else caught up with it now?

I was really quite startled, by the way, when Mollie Thurstan, one of the main characters, says on the very first page to her friend Jean Fraser (who must have strayed in from M Pardoe's Bunkle books) "What a solid lump of comfort you are!"...

I read it when GGBP published it and quite enjoyed it - not one I've reread, which is possibly telling, but I'd be much more likely to reread it than, say, Judy the Guide, or certainly the blessed Beechy or Nesta.

It had a nice Christmas scene.
