Going back to Redheads, I am fond of this book. Yes, it's bonkers and problematic, but it breaks up the monotony of stroppy new girls and long-lost relatives. It is nice to see a new girl who fits in at the school but causes drama in an original way. I at least give EBD props for trying.

I agree, it’s a fun, light read with a character who doesn’t end up distantly related to one of the original girls. I’m still uncomfortable with all the sharing of personal information that goes on, but I can suspend lots of that.

The American speech seems very Bugs Bunny; I was half expecting a “See, youse guys...” to appear

The kidnappers are unintentionally funny. They put a note on Val, saying that her ticket is in her pocket, because obviously a gang who would kidnap and drug someone would have terrible qualms about dodging train fares. And don't they give her rich, creamy milk, as well?! Maybe they had friends who were CS Old Girls!
